R1 - Prix de Lormoy – Mister Banker – (Elisabeth Allaire/Antoine Hamelin)

- Handles conditions

- Further progress possible

- Proven over the distance

The opening ten-furlong Prix de Lormoy looks like a competitive affair, with some well-bred types on show from major stables. It's no shock to see the class-dropping Spanish Breeze Cen and the well-related maiden winner Melanesia towards the top of the market, but at the prices, Mister Banker looks more appealing.

A progressive gelded son of Lope De Vega, Elisabeth Allaire's three-year-old has looked a smart prospect in three outings to date, finishing a promising runner-up on debut before backing up his breakthrough Saint-Malo success with a commanding all-the-way victory in a conditions race over this trip at Le Lion d'Angers.

This represents a step up in class, but it was tough not to be impressed with the way he picked up in the straight to score last time out and he left the impression that there could be plenty more to come once he steps up in grade.

Soft ground conditions over this trip will not pose any problems and should he manage to dictate matters out in front, he could take some pegging back.
