French banker of the day - 10th December 2025

Wednesday’s French banker is a four-year-old looking to continue his good run of form.

Legrec (Gabriel Leenders / Clément Lefebvre)
Pau – R8 – Prix de Lastours

  • Unexposed with two wins in the provinces during the summer
  • Upped in grade and ran a career best at Auteuil most recently
Legrec will be looking to add to his two career victories in the eighth and final contest at Pau this afternoon.

Having made a satisfactory debut in February, Legrec improved on his third start at Morlaix to score impressively by five lengths, with the second and third both winning subsequently to boost the form. He was travelling well when falling on his next start before going to Moulins in June and getting his head back in front by six lengths.

Kept fresh for his return at Auteuil in November, he picked up well from off the pace before seemingly being outstayed late on. This afternoon's drop back in trip looks like a positive move and although he must take on more experienced rivals here, it's tough to not like the chances of this unexposed type, who is a half-brother to four-time winner and 2020 Listed Prix Marc Antony scorer Garbure.
