La Frenaye (Yann Barberot/ Lukas Deleau)

Deauville – R1- Prix Ville de Benerville

- Promising debut

- Course experience

- Well-advertised form

The opening maiden at Deauville looks like an interesting affair, with several well-bred types represented. It's not overly surprising to see Alavesa and Kalahani currently battling it out for market supremacy, but at a slightly bigger price, La Frenaye makes more appeal.

A promising runner-up on her debut over 2400m at this venue, La Frenaye's course experience should stand her in good stead, while she shaped as though there should be plenty more to come following that initial experience. Furthermore, the form of her debut second has been well-advertised since, with the winner Karla Jet going on to follow-up in a Class 2 conditions event and the third-place horse, Darlinka, getting off the mark second time out for Aga Khan Studs.

Yann Barberot's filly ought to have no problem dropping back slightly in trip and with Lukas Deleau now in the saddle taking off a valuable 7lb, she looks to hold strong claims of going one spot better.
