French banker of the day - 25th August 2025
Monday’s French banker of the day is an unexposed four-year-old in search of a maiden victory…

Lienesse (Laurent Postic/Mickael Barzalona) Clairefontaine – R4 – Prix Raphael Giret Marechal-Ferrant
- Mickael Barzalona takes the ride again
- Placed on both attempts over 2400m
- Unexposed four-year-old with five career starts
Lienesse may not be the most attractive price of the day, but Laurent Postic's charge has the credentials to take the competitive 2400m handicap at Clairefontaine. With only five racecourse starts under his belt, the four-year-old is relatively unexposed for his age and has been tried over a variety of different distances with mixed results. He produced a career-best when switched to 2400m for the first time at Saint-Cloud on handicap debut in July, placing second behind La Mazzi Gogo and ran into the same winner again when third over course and distance subsequently. Mickael Barzalona, who has ridden Lienesse on both of his handicap outings, appears to be getting the best out of the son of Tigron and a win appears imminent.
