Akwaba (Francois Nicolle/Simon Planque) Clairefontaine – R6 – Prix Nuage

- Impressive debutant winner

- Experienced rider takes off a valuable 7lb

- Open to further progress

The François Nicolle-trained Akwaba should have bundles more to offer as he steps out onto the track for just the second time following his snug winning debut at Clairefontaine.

A son of Belardo, Akwaba looked as though he would improve plenty for the initial experience when overcoming clear signs of greenness to make a winning start over hurdles.

It was tough not to be impressed with the way that he picked up to make a winning debut back in July and with that initial outing now under his belt, he can remain unbeaten under the experienced rider Simon Planque, who takes off a valuable 7lb as he continues his transition to riding over jumps.
