Australian thoroughbred meeting are today held at Hawkesbury, Nowra,  Moe, Sunshine Coast, Bordertown, Geraldton,  Hobart and Tatura.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 1 @ 1:35 PM

Good little contest to start the day. I AM CARROT (3) bounced off his good first-up second, with a commanding on-pace victory over 1350m at Wyong. Held in high regard by the stable and can go on with it here from the low draw. PENTAGON (2) El Roca gelding who made his Australian debut with a slick on-speed performance when saluting from the wide gate over 1300m at this track. Shapes as the main danger from the good gate and can go on with it this time in. SO LONG FAREWELL (1) was unwanted in betting on resumption before surging late with the 60kg for a narrow second over 1300m at Wyong. Proven second-up and he gets a better set-up today. Sure to be thereabouts. FAST TRACK (4) indicated a win was imminent when he gripped on late to secure second over 1350m at Wyong. Looking for this trip and further now and stays in the mix. ROMAN FORUM (5) finds an easier contest fourth-up and gives the impression she will appreciate this trip.
SELECTIONS: I Am Carrot and Pentagon can fight it out.

NOWRA: RACE 1 @ 1:15 PM

ELIVINA (5) made a nice return at Kembla Grange, then stepped up in grade over 1400m at Randwick Kensington and did about what was expected. Fitter and stepping up to a mile is well-placed to turn things around. DEVINE OUTCAST (6) also presents third-up and rates similarly. Improved his numbers at Hawkesbury in stronger and Ryan is reunited, replacing the apprentice. LINE OF FIRE (2) resumed at Newcastle in a 64 and finished close than expected. At his best this trip, Collett replaces the apprentice. QUEEN OF DEELS (3) peaks for an elite metro barn and got close at Canberra last time in a 70 over this trip. Needs to find more, but should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Elivina.

MOE: RACE 4 @ 3:05 PM

CAELIUS (7) was nudged out at Sale first-up over 1400m and then was heavily bet this track/trop beaten 1.3L. He's settled last, and there was a stack of merit in the effort. Has a low gate today and can kept on the fresh side, should be making amends. LEVERAGED BUYOUT (12) has needed his two runs this preparation and will be a lot sharper stepping up to the mile. Was tried at Stakes grade at Eagle Farm and the back of the previous campaign, and has plenty up his sleeve. FRENCH GIFT (8) was expected to win first-up but found The Mean Fiddler much too good. A dryer track should suit him better, and expect quick improvement from the Hayes-trained galloper. MOONBOLT (5) peaks and should enjoy the longer distance. Maps well today and is likely to feature. NEWCOMBE (6) wasn't far away in town before going close at Stony Creek on a heavy surface. He's worth a look at double-figure odds.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Caelius.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 1 @ 12:24 PM

Former Victorian TARA'S REWARD (4) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this easier than what he faced down south. He resumes a gelding as well and judging by his trials, the scratching of the early fave opens the door right up for him. RALOS STAR (3) had been plying his trade in town before the break and will be better with that preparation now under the belt. Comes here without a trial which is a little query, but he has the class to feature on reusmption. FACTNOT FICTION (1) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may earn some minor money. GUNNIE GUNFIGHTER (2) next best.
SELECTIONS: Tara's Reward to return a winner.

BORDERTOWN: RACE 3 @ 2:08 PM

ROCKTAGON (1) failed last time in town as favourite but was almost too bad to be true. Much easier this time and gets weight relief with the 3kg claimer aboard. Suspect she bounces back sharply and gets the job done. GAMADALE INDI (3) was denied by the barest margin first up before tackling a hot BM0-62 at the latest. Freshened with a month and looks a serious threat third up. KISS AND KABOOM (4) rattled home to score last time at Gawler. Has further improvement to come but will need to do it again from the back. SHAME ON SUE (5) was too quick at Swan Hill when leading all the way to shed the tag. This is tougher but she can give another bold sight. DORA AURORA (8) returned with a bang at Clare when making light work of her maiden. Worth keeping safe.
SELECTIONS: Rocktagon to win.

GERALDTON: RACE 6 @ 5:40 PM

SNIPPETY LEGEND (3) made it back-to-back wins here last start with a 0.4L victory over 1407m, with the form out of that race stacking up strongly. He looks a nice horse on the rise and the in-form Galati remains in the saddle and while he may get back in the run, he can storm over the top to bring up the hat-trick. CANTILEVER (5) got a long way back last time out over the mile trip and looks better suited coming back to this trip now. He was a good winner as favourite here two back and he maps for a similar run today. Can return to his best form. THE RUSH (2) just missed here fresh before a slightly disappointing effort last time out. Out to this trip now where she's had success previously and she draws much better today. Expecting her to bounce back to her best today. GET OUT MICK (4) finished off strongly last start at Bunbury and looks well placed here on the back of that effort. ODIN OMEN (10) can make his presence felt third-up into the campaign.
SELECTIONS: Snippety Legend can bring up the hat-trick.

HOBART: RACE 7 @ 4:15 PM

Should be an exciting contest. IN THE OCEAN (7) resumed from a long break with a determined win over this trip. Much fitter for it and drops nicely in the weight. Tougher race but expected to measure up. TSUNAMI SAM (2) gave a sight in the Newmarket and was only nabbed late when a close-up third. Will take catching again. PEROLA (5) ran on well late in the same race. Fitter and goes very well this course and distance. Should go close. GEEGEES GEMSTONE (1) was well off best in the Newmarket but has a superb record at this slightly shorter journey. Expected to bounce back. PERSPIRATION (4) is the interesting runner. Former Maher galloper who won the Heritage Stakes at Rosehill a couple of starts ago but has two long spells since. First try for new yard but has more than enough ability for this level. Go close on best.
SELECTIONS: Follow up on In The Ocean.

TATURA: RACE 4 @ 3:20 PM

AKA DAKA (8) is racing consistently and looks nicely placed in this. He beat one with consistent form to break his maiden two back at Ararat, okay last time on wet ground at Pakenham in a tougher race last time. This should suit better and he maps for every chance. FRONTLINE ACTION (1) resumes. He's a handy type who contested some strong 3yo races last time in, placing in the Mahogany Challenge Final at Flemington over 2500m. He looks a bit dour for this trip but class will take him a long way. CHOSEN VENTURE (10) was poor at Donald last time and struggles to win but prior form has him thereabouts. MAID IN DUBAI (5) may be better suited back in trip.
SELECTIONS: Aka Daka to win.
