Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at
Grafton, Gatton, Canberra, Geelong, Mount Gambier and Cranbourne.

GRAFTON: RACE 10 @ 4:25 PM

SHAMADAN (3) returned in good style last start in a BM70 over this distance at Doomben, closing strongly to be beaten just 1.5 lengths. Finished third at Randwick on a heavy track this time last year. Fitter for that first-up run so despite the 61kgs she is the testing material. ICON OF STYLE (10) showed pace and refused to lie down when resuming on a boggy track at Ballina recently, beaten under a length in the end over 1300m. Not a noted fresh performer so that was an encouraging effort. Major player. COSMIC FORTUNE (8) backs up six days after a narrow win in a BM50 at Casino. Good wet tracker who cannot be ruled out. PICUPSTIXX (9) steps up in trip after a decent second here on 13 April. Unproven in this going which is the knock. CHURCH ROCK (7) likes the sting out of the ground and is capable of a strong return from a four-month spell.
SELECTIONS: Shamadan to win the last.

GATTON: RACE 4 @ 1:04 PM

ALL EYES ON HER (11) has been in the betting of late and where there's smoke there's fire. Just missed the placings at the latest effort and must be respected from the Waller yard. Looks the one they all have to run down. JONDY GRACIE (8) has placed over this track and trip and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. This offers a great chance of breaking through. BRASS BAND (1) boasts a runner-up finish around this circuit and will be rock-hard fit for this. Should be about the money from the favourable draw. LORD DANILO (2) next in line with the generous claim.
SELECTIONS: All Eyes On Her to get the job done.

CANBERRA: RACE 2 @ 1:46 PM

ELIVINA (8) looks a nice filly on the rise, bringing up a maiden win when sitting on the speed and scoring by 0.6L at Kembla Grange last start. The step up to the mile doesn't look an issue and she's beautifully placed under the conditions. Can bring up back-to-back wins. DARK STRATUM (10) has had a few goes now but has been racing in tougher races than this recently, with his last 3 starts being in $100k maidens. Back to country level now with McDougall on board and getting onto a firmer deck should suit. Racing well and should get his chance. WILD SENSATION (4) led them up here last start and held on to win narrowly, scoring in a photo finish over 1400m. The form has been franked since and he has the speed to offset the wide alley. Can roll forward and will take catching. CHILLY CHARLIE (2) never got into the race first-up but looks suited to this event. Blinkers come off and he can improve. DOC MARCH (7) draws well today and can feature with the winkers on first time.
SELECTIONS: Elivina can bring up back-to-back wins.

GEELONG: RACE 4 @ 2:10 PM

Shame there can be only one winner because a number of these are close and crying out for the extra ground. ZINOVATION (7) has perhaps the most upside having started just twice for a third and a fourth and both in richer maidens. Looks ideally placed here and gets chance. THUNDER ZEUS (5) finished 3 lengths from the winner in sixth last start at third run from a spell over 1717m at Sale, an improvement on his seventh at Sale the run before. Kept coming and looks ideally suited by the trip now. BRYDAN (8) recorded another minor placing last time out, finishing 2.25 lengths away in third over 2000m at Kilmore. Overdue and should feature. GOTCHA MOMENT (4) came home strongly to finish fourth over 2050m at Wodonga and is building to a win. Another suited here and should run well. PREFERRED ASSASSIN (10) has been fourth last two, Meech goes aboard and drawn for the run of the race.
SELECTIONS: Stay with Zinovation.

MT GAMBIER: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM

TAKE A PICK (7) was game in defeat last time out, backing up a strong first-up maiden win with a luckless third at Bordertown. Hard fit now and should take some stopping with winning hoop in Murtagh reuniting. CARASHAN CHLOE (9) is ready to take the next step after an impressive maiden win at Penola. She gave every indication there's more to come. Milnes sticking is a positive. OCTAHEDRON (6) brings solid staying form into this, sticking on well last time over a much longer journey. Boasts a solid record over this trip without winning. In the mix. BALTIC WAY (1) has been below his best in recent starts but is capable on his day. Don't underestimate if he finds clear air.
SELECTIONS: Take A Pick gets the nod.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 2 @ 5:45 PM

KAZUNGULA (4) resumed with a strong run at Geelong over 2200m, working home well to be beaten by just a nose. Looks an out and out stayer who will relish the rise to 2580m second up. Go close. JUST LANDED (3) is knocking on the door, placing in his past four starts. He was beaten six lengths by a smart one last time who was given support (albeit struggling) in the G1 SA Derby last time out. That form should hold up. DIGGERS AIM (2) was outclassed at Caulfield last time out but had been coming along nicely prior and can bounce back. MURGASTY (6) has just found one better, stepping up to 2400m at Moe and running another good race. Should be thereabouts. SNORE (9) has been around the mark and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Kazungula to win.
