Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Eagle Farm, Morphettville, Ascot and Caulfield.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 8 @ 3:25 PM

PUNCH LANE (5) undefeated on the heavy tracks and backs-up quickly after giving them a galloping lesson over 1500m at Randwick in BM100 class last Saturday. Rawiller sticks and will take catching again out to the mile. MIGHTY ULYSSES (3) raced in much tougher company last prep and like the way he closed off with the 60kg when fifth to Sandpaper over 1400m at Randwick first up. His good second up record can see him take this out. MATCHA LATTE (12) chasing his third straight win this prep and jumps many grades for this. Proven at the trip and adept in all conditions. Sure to be thereabouts. TAVI TIME (9) heavily supported on resumption when a narrow second to Sandpaper over 1400m at Randwick. Will be closing off strongly from the draw.
SELECTIONS: Punch Lane to take stopping again.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 2 @ 12:38 PM

Former Victorian FLOOZIE (4) looked good saluting over this course and distance when having the first run for the Gollan camp and winning hoop Jones retains the ride. Will have come on even further with that run now under the belt and can go back-to-back to start the campaign. FEARLESS THINKING (12) strips fitter second-up from the spell and can feature in the finish if she brings her A-game. The well-related FIELD OF MYRTLE (6) (half to 2xG3 winner and G2 placed Holyfield) has placed one from one over this course and distance and looks one for the multiples. HERMANITA (3) is yet to miss a drum in seven attempts over this distance range and it's hard to knock mares in form. Keep safe.
SELECTIONS: Floozie to win again.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 2 @ 12:57 PM

ALBERTVILLE (5) is perfectly placed to bring up the hat-trick after producing a powerful finish from well off the pace to score at Mornington last start. He's a horse who does his best work late and Jamie Melham sticking. Kept on the fresh side for this as he drops back in trip. Sure to take some stopping. SOLAR BLAST (11) closed off nicely into a midfield finish when resuming at Oakbank. Strips fitter and gets weight off with gun apprentice in Johnstone claiming 2kgs. Likely to threaten. SANTASTICO (2) was disappointing before the break but has shown glimpses of ability. Watch the market for a lead on his chances in this return. WINNING REVOLUTION (1) is another that returns and boasts a solid record over this course and distance. Have to consider.
SELECTIONS: Albertville will be very hard to beat.

ASCOT: RACE 4 @ 3:29 PM

BLACK ORA (8) made it 2 wins on the bounce this prep when scoring by nearly a length here 2 weeks ago. This field is not that much stronger, and with half a kilo less to carry, she can complete the hat-trick. ESPRIT GARCON (2) did not race up to expectations in 2 starts in the spring, he started as favourite on both of those occasions and will be better for having a spell. He comes to hand quickly, and if right, he will be hard to hold out. Use the market as your best guide. KEEP ITA MYSTERY (3) has been racing well at his level in his last 3 starts, and all 3 of his wins have been over 1000m. He is likely to settle back early on, and once the gaps appear, he can hit the line strongly. Each way. RICHANCO (7) made some solid progress last year and is resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. He won a recent Lark trial, and with the advantage of the pole position, he can give this a shake.
SELECTIONS: Esprit Garcon each way.

CAULFIELD: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM

THE MUFFIN MAN (5) steps up to 2000m for the first time having stuck on well behind Athanatos at Flemington last time out. That form has worked out well in Adelaide and if Ethan Brown can slide across with minimal fuss he should take catching. OXFORD BLUE (3) gets to 2000m now which should suit. He's going well, just fancy he wants a stronger staying test. Shinn on is a positive. HURRY CURRY (2) wasn't bad last time and should be suited to this trip. JENNI YOU THINK (8) has only raced twice and there's definite upside to come.
SELECTIONS: The Muffin Man can get the right run.
