Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Pakenham, Wangaratta, Cairns and York.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 5 @ 2:50 PM

OKAMI STAR (7) confidence is high now after relishing the heavy (10) going when scoring a determined maiden victory at start thirteen over 1600m at Wyong. Drops in weight and good enough to play a leading role. OCEAN DIVA (8) came out positive at her second run back when a fighting on pace second over 1600m at Gosford. Gets a similar set up today and a win looks imminent. LADY SUPERSPY (5) kept fresh for this after chipping away late on resumption when sixth over 1400m at Kembla Grange on April 15. Since fitted with a trial placing over 1200m at Beaumont (Newcastle). Has won second up and not to be underestimated. STYLEBENDER (9) took control a long way from home last start when he scored a stylish win at Muswellbrook. Can go on with it.
SELECTIONS: Okami Star to keep the winning momentum going.

PAKENHAM: RACE 7 @ 7:45 PM

EGERTON (7) clearly on top. She's a sparingly raced 5yo mare who showed promise in her maiden campaign when finishing second in all three runs, resuming over this track and distance with a dominant win, scoring by 2.25 lengths. She profiles very nicely for this against opposition that have hit their mark. NASRAAWY (2) has come back very well, winning fresh at Sale before a solid effort there last time. Lands in a good spot from the draw and will take some catching. WALTER SPUR (6) was good here first up off quite a long spell, working home up the fence to grab third. Stays at 1000m but should be thereabouts. MACHINIST (1) next best coming back in grade.
SELECTIONS: Egerton to win.

WANGARATTA: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM

Tough test to end but I AM PIKI (9) looks well placed. Just missed fresh then third latest so should be at top now. Yet to run a bad race in five career starts and will push forward and take beating. LOVEY (10) is a promising type tested in stakes class before a spell. Resumes in far easier off the back of two jump-outs and can feature fresh on talent. ZEMGRINDA (6) just missed fresh then ran on hard to score in a BM58 latest. Fitter again and can measure up. SWIFTIES (12) was strong fresh when fourth in the same race as I Am Piki then struggled in the soft latest. Fitter and better than that. Can atone.
SELECTIONS: I Am Piki looks ready.

CAIRNS: RACE 2 @ 1:15 PM

ALMIGHTY JAB (1) has come of age this year since resuming from a spell and made it 3 wins from his last 4 starts when showing a quick turn of foot to arrive from last and score comfortably at Townsville 18 days ago. He did win over this shorter trip of 950m fresh up and can complete a hat-trick. KICKAGOAL KENNY (3) won over this trip by a nose on this track second up last prep and is resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. The winkers are on for the first time, and from a good draw, he can threaten the top pick, especially if the track is rain-affected. HAND GRENADE (5) is resuming from a spell and saves her best for this track. She was runner-up in a recent trial and only needs a wet track to be very competitive fresh up. GREY POWER (4) is usually thereabouts, so include in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Almighty Jab to win.

YORK: RACE 1 @ 9:57 PM

BELVEDERE ROCK (1) is on debut for the Barry Newnham stable on the back of some impressive trials coming into this. He started his career with Sue Olive but has spent a while on the sidelines and switched to the new barn. Edwards was on board for his trials and sticks today. Can make an immediate impact. FAVOURED SON (2) just missed at Narrogin two back before a 1.3L defeat at this track most recently. He's knocking on the door of his maiden win and he maps for a lovely run off the inside barrier. Well placed should be going close again. SHE'S SOME CRAIC (9) has been going around in stronger races than this recently, beaten a long way first-up at Pinjarra. Back in trip looks a good move and a host of gear changes can see some sharp improvement. KIMBERLEY CURRENCY (4) comes through a strong form race 25 days ago and has claims. ROSAY ALLDAY (10) won a recent trial and can feature in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Belvedere Rock can win on debut.
