Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Small but competitive field in the opener. (7) STUNNING WORLD was a solid 3rd last time out over 1200M on April 6th, racing handy. She also has a 2nd place on her record. She comes up to the 1300M for the first time and she can win. (2) TEUKGEUP PARTY also has a runner-up finish to her name, which she achieved on debut at the end of December. She has since run 5th in back-to-back outings and from a good draw here can lead and be in this a long. (6) HWANGGEUM MASK got his best finish of 3rd at this distance and on his latest couple of outings, both ending in 4th, has to rate as a chance. (5) WILD HAPPY and (4) PROOF others who could have a say in the minors.

Selections (7) Stunning World (2) Teukgeup Party (6) Hwanggeum Mask (5) Wild Happy

(9) WILD WHIZ ran once last summer for 3rd place at 1000M. He hasn't been seen since, but he trialed well in mid-April under Moon Se-young, coming from off the pace and finishing well. If he brings that form to the races, he has every chance first-up. (4) PINE PINK also ran just the once last year, in her case a 4th place in December. She offered fewer clues in her trial at the start of this month but from a good draw, if she brings that form she showed before, she can be in this. (7) TIGER K has mixed his form across four starts so far but does have a 2nd place on his record and that's enough to have him in this. (6) SOMETHING DARK and (3) AMENO are others to consider.

Selections (9) Wild Whiz (4) Pine Pink (7) Tiger K (6) Something Dark

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1700M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(11) GHOST CHRYSOL was an improved 2nd over this distance on March 30th when racing handy throughout. He carries a similar weight, the wide draw shouldn't be a problem, and a similar effort should be sufficient to win this. (3) TTOSUNI SEOUL stepped up to 1700M last time out and came from off the pace to run a decent 3rd. She should have benefitted from that experience and can be a danger here. (10) CHAMPIONS FIELD enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes over this distance and should be there or thereabouts again. Plenty of others have hinted at ability too with (8) EUNPA SWEET and (7) TEN KOREA perhaps the most likely to challenge for the places.

Selections (11) Ghost Chrysol (3) Ttosuni Seoul (10) Champions Field (8) Eunpa Sweet

Busan Race 1: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(9) ONEULISUNGAN was a winner at this class and distance two starts back before running 4th in a competitive Trophy race over a mile on April 13th. He carries 3kg more than his winning mark but is one for one at the trip and five from ten in total and he can win again here. Both of (8) SOLEDAD's wins came at this trip and she enters in consistent form, most recently beating a couple of today's rivals on her way to 4th place in another April 13th Trophy race, in her case over 1800M. She has the fastest time among these for the distance and is a danger. (2) SPECIAL WIND won over this trip at class 4 level in February and hinted at getting to grips with this class when 5th on April 4th. He draws nicely and under a light weight can be backed on a place line (4) DANGDAE STAR and (6) MORPHEUS others who can compete for the minors.

Selections (9) Oneulisungan (8) Soledad (2) Special Wind (4) Dangdae Star

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only. (8) DONKEY PLAY was a winner at this class and distance in a similar all-filly affair on April 19th when settling midfield and running on. That was her maiden win, but the manner of it was strong and while she carries an additional 3kg, there is little to fear here. (10) LALA GIRL remains a maiden but comes up in class following back-to-back runner-up finishes over 1200M and this distance. In doing so, she posted a quicker time than any of these for the 1300M (albeit on a wet track) and she can measure up. Seo Seung-un is in town to ride Black Mamba in the big race later and he picks up the ride on (6) WONDERFUL PASS. Another non-winner, she comes in off a smart 4th at this class over 1200M and can go close. (11) LUCKY DAY and (9) KOTAP others to consider.

Selections (8) Donkey Play (10) Lala Girl (6) Wonderful Pass (11) Lucky Day

Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden and it's not a strong field so we'll take a chance on the solitary debut maker. That's (6) MAGIC SHOW, a Federalist filly who looked good in her trial, showing handy and finishing in 3rd place in a fair time. If she can have some natural improvement from that then she has as good a chance as any. (7) GOLDEN CARD enters off an improved 3rd place over 1400M on April 18th when beating a couple of today's rivals. In the absence of much early speed, she may well be the early leader and can be in this a long way. (2) SEONGSIL WORLD came from well back to run 4th at start number two on April 4th. Third-up she should still have scope for improvement. (8) WINNERS ROOKIE and (1) HIT WINNER others to consider for the minors.

(3) HAKSAN CAIRO is yet to win but has never been outside of the top five and comes in having run 2nd in both his latest two at 1300M and 1400M at this class. Drawn well to sit behind the speed here, he has the fastest finish in the field and can go one better. (10) TAPDINE got his maiden win at start three over this distance in February, leading all the way, before running 3rd on his first try at this class on April 6th. He has the challenge of the widest gate here but is the main danger. (5) KING WARRIOR is up in class after a good win at 1300M on April 6th when leading all the way. He is down in weight, and he can measure up. (6) STUNNING FLATTER and (7) ALL FOR YOUR DREAM are the other place chances.

(9) GLORY WIND is yet to score in eight but has shown signs of figuring things out since being bumped up to a mile and from her latest two, she has a 2nd and a 3rd. She'll race on pace and today can be the day. (2) SEUNGCHUNHANEUNHAE is neither easy to spell or pronounce but he hinted at ability across three starts over the turn of the year with two 4th places followed by a 3rd. He hasn't raced since January, but he has been back in training since the end of March and looked well when 3rd in a quick trial on April 26th. The mile can suit, and he can go well first-up. (8) STAR FORCE enters off a pair of 4th places at the mile and can get closer this time. (6) NICE GIRL and (3) PERFECT HAN others in the hunt.

(1) ÉCLAIR POWER was a winner over 1700M at class 5 level in March before coming from well off the pace, as is his style to run 3rd over the same trip on his first try at this level on March 30th. He also ran 3rd on his previous try at 1800M and with CC staying on, he looks the one to beat. (6) K POWERFUL has won his latest two, both at 1700M and most recently at this class on April 6th, racing on pace. He comes up a full 5kg in weight but is not to be dismissed. (2) THEME TANSAENG has a win and a 3rd from his latest two, both at this class. He too carries his fair share of weight but that's balanced somewhat by a great draw, and he can be in the mix. (9) HERO JJANG and (7) TONNERRE among other place chances.

Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only and it's wide open. (4) QUEENS DRAGON is yet to win in four attempts but has two runner-up finishes at this distance and at 1400M. That brings her up in class, but she is down in weight, well drawn, and can more than measure up. (3) WIND TIME is also up in class having registered her maiden win at start four on March 21st. It had been coming, and she got it done with a front-running effort. Having been lightly weighted that day, she doesn't get much in the way of a drop, but she is well drawn and will have supporters to follow up. (10) QUEEN TYCHE was a class and distance winner two starts back and then beat a couple of these when 4th on April 18th and can be close again. (6) WORLD LIST CAT and (7) KKEUTPAN YEOGEOL are the others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 7: Class Open (2000M) Special Weight B / Sports Chosun Trophy (Listed) / KRW 200 Million

Competitive race for a big prize in what is essentially a class 2 race with a rating cap of 80. (3) NICE TAEYANG enters off a dominant win at this distance at class 2 on April 19th when he led all the way and ran the legs off them. He does come up a full 5kg under today's conditions but the manner of that victory suggests he can win again. (11) YONGAM SESANG is a winner of five from eight, most recently over 1800M at class 3 level on March 30th, also leading from gate to wire under 58kg. He tackles 2000M for the first time but looks to have plenty of scope for more progress. (7) TAEPYEONG LEGEND enters off a hat-trick of victories up to class 3 and 1800M. As a three-year-old, he gets a weight allowance and can be competitive again. (6) ZIGGURAT and (2) ECLIPSE HONOR among other strong contenders.

(8) BRUG KINGMAN returned from a more than nine-month layoff to run a solid 3rd at this class and distance on April 18th, showing on pace throughout. He comes up 3kg but should strip fitter for that run and he is the one to beat here. (1) FANTASTIC HUMOR was a winner over 1300M on March 21st, coming from off the pace. He comes up in class here but is down in weight and the slight step up in trip can suit. Alan Munro had a great Friday, registering three winners, and (2) WIND BULLET is intriguing here. A down the field finish in Busan's Classic Trial is sandwiched by two efforts as beaten favourite but he is a winner at this class and distance and shouldn't be dismissed here. (6) STAR FURY and (3) GWANGYAEUIHAMSUNG other chances.

Seoul Race 8: Class Open (1200M) Weight for Age / SROA Chairman's Sprint (KOR G2) / KRW 700 Million

The final leg of the Sprint Series and (3) VINCERO CAVALLO will be hot favourite to complete a clean sweep. He dominated both the Busan Ilbo and the SBS Sports Sprint and from a great draw, jockey Jo Jae-ro can pick his spot and confirm his mount's status as the leading local hope for September's international Korea Sprint. (13) BLACK MAMBA was 3rd in both the Busan Ilbo and in the SBS. He draws a touch wider than ideal but is the main danger. (12) BLACK MUSK was 2nd in the SBS on what was his first start since last November. He won this race all the way back in 2022 and shouldn't be dismissed. (4) CROWN HAMSEONG comes off the Queens' Tour following a win in the Listed Segye Ilbo followed up by a 2nd in the Donga Ilbo (also Listed) and then the Ttukseom Cup at filly and mare Group level. She draws very nicely to be on pace and she can make an impact. (2) SUPER FINISH, 4th in the SBS, another in the frame.

(9) MR.KEYMAN was a winner at this class and distance on January and enters off a 2nd place in the TJK Trophy (a trophy exchange race) on April 13th in which the winner broke the track record (on what was obviously a very fast track). He carries 4kg more than he did at his latest win but that shouldn't be a problem, and he is the one to beat. (1) GEUMA DISTINCTION was 3rd in the TJK having shown close to the pace throughout. It's been a while since he last won but he is very consistent with five placings from six tries at this distance. He gets a 3kg weight swing on Mr.Keyman today and can be a danger. (2) CAPTAIN GOLD was only an also-ran in the TJK but under handicap conditions he comes down a full 6kg and that should put him into placing contention. (4) WIND WINNER and (7) ARCTURUS others to consider on a place line.

(2) SMART SOCKS enters off a 3rd and a 2nd from his latest two, both at this class and distance and both times racing on pace. She draws well here and while it is fair to say that she doesn't win out of turn (once from thirty-six starts), Moon Se-young stays on, and it can be here day. (4) QUEEN DIA had a hard time last start in the Luna Stakes, the first leg of the Triple Tiara at Busan. She is a winner at this distance and today draws nicely to get a forward position early and she can be a danger. (9) MIGHTY SSEN has a 2nd and a 3rd from his latest two at 1200M and 1700M, both at this class and both times racing on pace. He has his fair share of weight but will be on pace again and should be in this a long way. (6) LAFAYETTE and (1) DAEBAK STAR others to consider on a place line.

(2) SFORZA enters off a best to date 3rd at this distance on March 16th when on pace all the way. He comes in under the same weight, he draws well for an easy run to the lead, and he can get off the mark. (1) ACE K also took a couple of goes to figure things out, but he has a 2nd and a 3rd from his latest two, both at this distance. He carries plenty of weight but can sit behind the speed and be a danger late on here. (3) SPINNING KANT is another who has hinted at ability and while he can leave himself a bit much to do, he can launch a challenge in this company. (8) GLORY YEONGGWANG and (9) B.K LOVE, the latter having won a couple of races at lower levels, can also be in the mix.

Competitive finale. (10) DREAM ISLE returned from almost a year out to run 4th at this class and distance on April 13th. He got his sole win at this trip and having derived benefit from that run a month ago has as much chance as any here. (2) NAVY CAPTAIN got his maiden win in December over 1400M and has been working his way into form at this class. Most recently he ran 4th, again at 1400M, on April 20th when leading for much of the way around. He can lead again here and should go close. (5) BEOLGYO VERITAS was a winner at this class and distance two starts back and while he didn't come close to repeating in his latest and has plenty of weight to deal with, he can't be ruled out. (7) LUCKY FRANK and (6) MIGHTY SWEET others to consider.
