Today’s Horse Racing Tips - 21st May 2025
Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 21.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown Hillside, Ipswich, Belmont and Balaklava.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM
KNIGHTS ARMOUR (7) comes back a level or two today. Good effort to finish second in a BM82 over 2000m at Albury two back then made up many lengths to just miss the placings in the Listed Wagga Cup last start. The winner of four from five at this trip and handles the going so plenty to like about his prospects. BLACK RUN (1) wound up late to get up for third at his latest appearance over 1800m in heavy going at Hawkesbury. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and probably looking for this trip now. STAY TUNED (11) ground out a tough win over a similar trip to this at Goulburn last start. Performs best in these conditions so he comes under notice. JUNEBUG (6) was headed at the furlong but kept finding to finish third in Saturday metro company at Gosford last start. Won't find this as tough and handles the going. UP AND UNDER (3) is fitter for two runs back from a spell and has placed five times from seven runs on rain affected tracks.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Knights Armour.

SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 5 @ 2:45 PM
BLUESTONE (8) is a lightly raced 4yo who resumed for his second preparation with a strong win at Mornington, scoring by a long neck off a 10-month break. He should relish 2400m and with natural improvement he'll go close again. DIWALI (10) is racing well, winning two back in BM58 grade at Moe before a good effort at Caulfield when up in grade. Finds the right race now and gets in quite well at the weights. MUKTAMIL (2) is in consistently good form, solid at Caulfield last time out. Ready for another crack at 2400m and should be hard to hold out. SEA STRIKE (5) is racing in fine form of late, dominant at Wangaratta last time out. Ready for another crack at 2400m which he's bred to relish.
SELECTIONS: Bluestone to win.
IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 11:18 AM
The well-related NAVY PILOT (1) (full to 2xG2 winner Tiz Invincible) wasn't disgraced at Group 1 level two back before shedding the maiden tag in emphatic fashion at Eagle Farm last time out. Is sure to have derived a stack of confidence from that victory and winning hoop Maloney sticks in the stirrups. Looks very hard to toss. CALL DA VINCI (2) broke the maiden status over this track and trip at the latest effort and looks to have plenty of ability. Can go right on with the job now. NORTH POLE (3) also hails from a handy family (half to G3 winner and G2 placed Global Quest) and gets winning rider Jones back in the irons from the low draw. In the mix. THE BEAR (4) strips fitter second-up and may earn a cheque.
SELECTIONS: Navy Pilot to go back-to-back.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 6:52 PM
CARAWAY (8) stepped up to 1500m and delivered a Scarpside Maiden as expected. She's been a touch unlucky at Pinjarra prior, and five winners have come out of that contest. Maps for a soft transit, and the in-form Fiore stays aboard. She's capable of taking the next step. MISTRESS OF WAR (9) draws awkwardly again but will settle forward and is busting to return to the winner's list. There was only a nose in it this grade and trip at Ascot two weeks ago. THE HILL TRIBE (1) led at Scarpside and wasn't far away and then got too far back at Ascot against the above but hit the line well. He's proving hard to catch, but would be a hope if things went his way. OISIN (5) has needed his two runs this preparation. He maps better today and is likely to show more like his best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Caraway.
BALAKLAVA: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
WILD WINNER (5) has been knocking on the door for some time and deserves another chance after consistently running well in strong form lines. Backs up quickly and is well placed to bust through. FLAMBARD (1) was sharp when resuming here last month, showing early speed before being claimed late. Strips fitter, steps out to a winning distance, and gets Holder back in the saddle. Bold showing anticipated. OFF THE CUFF (6) doesn't score often but her best figures give her a genuine look in this, especially with a light weight and a handy draw. BACK ME UP BENNY (3) turned in an improved effort at Penola last time. Building nicely and looks set to challenge again.
SELECTIONS: Wild Winner to win.
