Brilliant night at Meydan
Fashion Friday supplied the glamour, the horses supplied the drama.
There were 9 Group races on the card with Bhupat Seemar emerging with four winners in the trainers area and Will Buick a treble in the Jockeys.
Seemar started off with the quinella in the opener with Mendelssohn Bay getting the better of his stablemate Commissioner King by 2 ¼ lengths. In the Al Shindagha Sprint he saddled Drew's Gold who overturned the favourite El Nasseeb, then Imperial Emperor obliged in the Al Maktoum Challenge and heads to the Dubai World Cup looking very well placed, and finally Six Speed won the UAE 2000 Guineas and has got some nice Kentucky Derby Points.
Buick's wins came in the Al Shindagha Sprint on Seemar's Drew's Gold, the Blue Point Sprint on Cover Up for the Crisfords, then the very talented Opera Ballo for Appleby/Godolphin in the Jebel Hatta which gets the horse into the Sheema.
Michael Costa's Maarbaan was unable to repeat his win in the Al Fahidi Fort but his stablemate Elnajmm was a very worth representative for the stable.
