Big 'Cap at Santa Anita

There's a very good card at Santa Anita this Saturday.

Starting off with the Beholder Mile Gr 1 for the f&m with 6 to run.  Baffert's Splendora is on 4/5 and Simply Joking 5/1 for McCarthy.  Always wise to follow Baffert on this day.

The San Felipe is Gr 2 over 1700m for the 3yos and here Baffert's Gun Runner colt Brant is on evens with stablemate Potente, by Into Mischief, on 5/2.  Between them is the Runhappy product So Happy on 2/1 for Glatt-Smith.  Seven runners.

The Frank E Kilroe Mile Gr 2 on turf has 8 runners with El Potente (as distinct from Potente in the previous race) 5/2 for Blacker – Berrios.  Gas Me Up is on 7/2 for Eurton- M Demuro and we like Almendares 9/2 for d'Amato-Gaffalione.

The Santa Anita Handicap or "Big 'Cap" is Gr 1 over 2000m with a field of six.  Just A Touch is on 3/2 for Cox-Geroux, Getaway Car 3/1 Baffert – J J Hernandez and Westwood 7/2 for Eurton – Kimura. 

Several Americans with horses due to run in Dubai on World Cup Day are still hoping to ship their horses.  Others have decided not to go.  Even if there are no more missiles flying around there may still be a problem with moving horses out so others can move in and ensuring that they are bringing plenty of feed and have good insurance for the stable staff.
