Words aren't enough

How do you describe a horse like Ka Ying Rising?

Four legs, a tail, two ears, athletic build, intelligent head - put all those together and you get a good horse but in this case there is a magic ingredient somewhere that makes him rise way above his competitors, who are good and very good horses.

So on Sunday at Sha Tin out he came, Zac Purton sitting calmly on board, David Hayes looking slightly nervous in the background, looking like he owned Sha Tin. Which he does.  Never the slightest doubt about the result as Zac steered Ka Ying Rising into a good position and once round the turn into the straight a slight shake of the reins was all that was needed to win the Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup.  Win No. 18 accomplished, new record for Hong Kong wins established, new track record set.  Time for dinner.

Helios Express ran very well for the second place as did our roughie Galaxy Patch who came from the rear to finish fourth, and veteran Lucky Sweynesse.

Earlier in the afternoon we were on song when Stellar Express won the Orchid Handicap Class 2 from favourite Colourful King and Dromberg Banner was fourth – we missed Invincible Sage who got the third spot.
