Winter racing delivers us a strong ten-race card at Royal Randwick on Saturday, with competitive races throughout the meeting on a rain affected track.

We head to the Drinkwise Mile Benchmark 78 Handicap (1600m), where the Chris Waller-trained Changing Colours comes up as our best bet.

The consistent four-year-old mare comes up from Victoria fifth up after finishing in the minor money at all four runs this preparation.

The well bred daughter of The Autumn Sun has a fitness edge and superior ratings over her rivals, giving her a great chance to break through tomorrow.

Changing Colours backs-up quickly after holding a forward position from the wide gate over the mile at Sandown Hillside, looking the winner before being collared by Suances.

Tomorrow, the winkers go on for the first time. Expect to see her slide across and take control early and prove hard to run down with Regan Bayliss aboard.

Hovering around the $5.50 quote after as much as $8 was on offer on Wednesday, she's expected to give her supporters a great sight.

Our next best comes up in the Precise Air Handicap for two-year-olds (1100m),with the James Cummings-trained Matima.

The Lonhro colt is bred to be a swimmer and strips fitter after taking ground off the smart Agarwood over the (1200m), two weeks ago at this course.

Matima was four weeks between runs on that occasion and expect to see him stalk the speed tomorrow.

Nash Rawiller rides, and the $4.40 on offer looks great value.
