We’ve found a few to follow from a big day of Group 1 action at Morphettville.

Race 8: Charm Stone & Ameena
We're keen to follow the first two across the line in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes, with their sights now firmly set on The Goodwood in two weeks' time.

The race was tailor-made for backmarkers after Austmarr set a blistering pace up front, with Estriella and Asfoora — both disappointing — pouring on the pressure early. Aside from A Little Deep (a strong fourth), five of the first six home settled between eighth and fourteenth in the run.

Charm Stone, the eventual winner, returned a career peak, running to 113 on the Racing and Sports scale. The four-year-old I Am Invincible mare has always promised plenty, and this breakthrough Group 1 victory could be the platform she needed to fully realise her potential.

Turning for home alongside Charm Stone was Ameena, but she didn't enjoy the same clear passage. Jamie Melham spent the 300m–200m section weaving back towards the inside, l before knuckling down to only be beaten a long neck.

The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained filly posted a peak-matching figure of 111 — a number that surely would have been higher with a cleaner run. With that in mind, she looks a major player for The Goodwood.

Notable Mentions:
While Zloties impressed knocking off Lady In Pink on the line to win the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stales, she'll be no secret to the market next start (and deservedly so).

Further back, there was plenty to like about the runs of Seonee (7th) and Wings Of Song (8th). Both were beaten under 2L and look set to peak in two weeks.

It's likely Patrick & Michelle Payne will keep Seonee at the mile this campaign, targeting the Group 3 Cummings Stakes. After winning the Queen Of The South last year, she stretched to 2019m in the Listed Centaurea Stakes — a trip that clearly stretched her. Her best career ratings have consistently come over 1400–1600m, and her 107 on Saturday adds another strong mark at the trip. With natural improvement third-up, she's right on track to feature prominently.

As for Wings Of Song, stepping out to 2019m in the Centaurea looks ideal. On her run on Saturday, expect her to be right in the finish.
