Race Review
Keep an eye on: Blackbookers - 4th January 2023
Racing from Geelong and Warwick Farm on Wednesday and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Geelong Race 2- Mr I'm A Believer
Perhaps a 1700m maiden win at Geelong in January isn't going to lead to stardom but I think this horse has a bit of staying ability and can certainly win more races this time in. His debut run last time in was excellent, unlucky not to beat Dunalley when held up and again, he would've been unlucky had he not won on Wednesday. Linda Meech had to wait for runs and duck back to the inside, clearly behind with 100m to go but surging late to win. He's lightly raced and 1800-2000m in a class 1 or similar next start should see him very hard to beat.
Warwick Farm Race 7- Rockribbed
This Maher & Eustace gelding endured a tough run out three wide on the speed and did a fantastic job under the 61kg to stick on, looking in trouble in the straight but eventually going down by just a head in third. That was actually a new peak rating for this lightly raced five-year-old and he looks primed after two placings this time in to explode third up if he can find a slightly better scenario.
