Treble on the day: "To be honest, I thought all three would run well. When all of them were in the market you expect them to be somewhere around the mark."

Big price early: "I couldn't see it either, there wasn't much between him and the favourite last time he had a wide run, so I thought if he gets the right run, he's going to be a lot closer."

Maintained preparation: "We've got a really good system having the farm, since we've adapted to sending them there for a few days after each run and just allowing them to come through runs. We're just able to space their runs a bit and keep them up for a long time. We're just blessed with the facilities we've got."

"They go there on the Monday after they race on the Saturday, spend three or four days. They get to be a horse, they come through very well. If they want to run around and exert some energy, they can. It just helps to freshen them up. So they're having a little bit of a spell in between runs and they come back to Flemington and ready to go."

On Ben Allen: "He's just unbelievable. We've started teaming up two years ago, with him and supporting him. I feel a little bit more confident when he's on our horses. He just rides them so well.

"We're a good team, he listens. Sometimes he comes out with better plans and we go with that so he's a very good rider and he's underestimated and it's good to see him get some success."

Winning Jockey: Ben Allen

Giving goggles out post-race: "I reckon Willie got the idea off me. They catch him on the camera a bit. Nah, it's good. You've got to give back to the young punters. They're going to be the ones that will keep it going, so no, it's good."

On his association with the stable: "It's been awesome. I think I started riding for them probably three years ago now. We started, I think it was Ararat, so we've come a bit of a way. It's good to see them getting results as well. They work their asses off. day in day out and it's good to see them get some good horses and the results show so it's unbelievable."

How it unfolded: "It was perfect because I know he's got good gate speed, and with the weight I wanted to be thereabouts so I didn't want to be giving him a head start.

"So once I was following it, I knew all we had to do was wait. Once Porter kind of kicked, gave us something to chase, we were able to build. To Porter's credit, he was tough, but we were just a bit too good."
