Winning Trainer: Chris Waller

On the horse:  "He's a young horse. Today was his fourth career star and each run has got a little bit better, a little bit better."

"His run in the Golden Slipper was amazing. He just got too far back. It was no-one's fault, and the horse is just learning all the time.

"He got a lovely draw today, and that was the difference between having him in the firing line or going back like he was last start. It was good to see him knuckle down and get the job done."

"He's got raw talent. His first start he did everything wrong, just because he thought, right let's get the race over and done with. We had to harness that a little bit and bring him back. He's a lovely colt."

Newgate colours: "Militarize, he won the Sires' and then he won the Champagne, so I'll have a talk to the team and see what they suggest."

Gerry Harvey: "He got passed in at the sales and I told Henry Field I want 600K and he said I'll give you 500K and I said get lost, in the end I took it and luckily I kept 20 per cent for myself."

Winning Jockey: James McDonald

On the horse: "He's a sensational horse, he's been a work in progressive and Mr Harvey told me, make sure I keep my hands down, don't want that horse throwing his head."

"He's beautifully bred and is a horse with a real future, I'm sure he'll run the 1600m right out."

"Great to see him put it together today, we've always had a big opinion of him. Chris and the team have done such a good job to keep him improving with each start."

Beaten Jockeys:

Tim Clark (Fireball): "Ran extremely well. A lovely colt. Just the draw made it tricky for him. Gallant in defeat."

Zac Lloyd (Tornado Valley): "He was a bit one-paced in that ground."

Craig Newitt (Alibaba): "He ran a creditable race. There was a bit of a scrimmage on the corner, he snuck through and followed the winner through. Just didn't quite handle the ground."

Jason Collett (Paradoxium): "He's done well but the barrier, he needs softer runs than that."

Damian Lane (Zambales): "The horse ran huge. Made an error of judgement to cut the corner. Didn't get a run through. Then he was held up and got home well late."

Ethan Brown (Rich On Bubbles): "It's all come a bit quick for him. Will come back a better horse after a spell."

Sam Clipperton (Outspan): "Things didn't go his way and ran accordingly."

Tommy Berry (Am I Dreaming): "Struggled today."

Zac Purton (Dr Hook): "Just locked his jaw going into the first corner. It was a bit of a mess after that. It rattled him."

Ben Melham (Streisand): "She has done a tremendous job this prep. I feel she has come to the end of the preparation. Was a little keen early. Her run ended at the time."

Regan Bayliss (Miss Chanel): "Not many as tough as her. A gallant effort. She just copped a check at the start and was a bit further back. She had a lovely uninterrupted run into it and was strong through the line."

Rachel King (Rachini): "Flew out of the gates better than I thought she was going to. Just the last 100m when I let her really go, she sank in that track."
