French banker of the day – 30th January 2026
Friday’s French banker of the day comes from Pau with a promising four-year-old running for an in-form stable…
Marbre Rose (Angelo Zuliani /Daniela Mele)
Pau – Race 4 - Prix Emile Lestorte Hurdle
Marbre Rose showed plenty of promise when a good three and a half-length second behind Micmac d'Angos and looks poised to go close over the same course and distance.
The son of Pastorius re-opposes with the third that day, Major de Guerre, but he had nine lengths in hand first time out and has already shown his capabilities of producing on a very testing surface.
He stuck to the task well on debut, running on strongly up the run-in to close the gap crossing the line and with further progress expected, it's tough not seeing him going close here for an in-form yard who are operating a 22% strike rate from their last 50 runners.
