French banker of the day – 10th February 2026

Wednesday’s French banker is a Zarak filly looking to get off the mark at the second attempt…

Aspire (Jerome Reynier/ Antonio Orani)
Marseille-Vivaux – R1 – Prix des Pins Parasols

- Zarak filly who caught the eye on debut.

- Sound second four weeks ago in an unraced maiden.

Aspire made solid ground after being handy in the run at Cagnes-sur-Mer four weeks ago and is open to any amount of improvement.

She wasn't without support on her debut four weeks ago in what may work out to be a decent maiden contest for the time of year and having clearly been expected to run well, she did just that, showing professionalism to sit handy just behind the leaders before sustaining a challenge close home to finish a highly creditable half-length runner-up.

This will be Aspire's debut on an all-weather surface but her run style from that only appearance suggests that she should perform adequately now switched to the all-weather. Pace looks like it could be at a premium and Aspire might get an easy time of things on the front end with that initial experience expected to stand her in good stead.

Jerome Reynier has enjoyed a fine start to 2026, operating at a 24% strike rate and Aspire should be capable of going one spot better here to add to the trainer's tally.
