French banker of the day - 26th March 2026
Thursday’s French banker of the day is a beautifully-bred three-year-old with fascinating claims…

Gilded Prize (Francis-Henri Graffard/Colin Keane)
Chantilly – R2 - Prix du Val Saint-Georges
Francis-Henri Graffard has enjoyed a tremendous few weeks and he now unleashes the exciting Gilded Prize, who will look to enhance her Classic credentials when taking on a useful-looking field in the Prix du Val Saint-Georges at Chantilly.
A home-bred Frankel filly from Juddmonte out of the Group 3 winner Grand Jete, she created a mammoth impression when striding clear to make a striking winning debut by three and a half lengths at Chantilly's all-weather track in November.
It's no shock to see connections give her plenty of time off subsequently and I suspect you'll see a more well-rounded model on her return to action.
She might not have beaten much on that occasion, but it was tough not to be impressed with the manner in which she lengthened her stride inside the final two furlongs and connections clearly see fit to step her up in class.
Her entries in the Prix Cleopatre and Prix de Diane suggest she is of a fairly high calibre and whilst there's plenty of depth to this Class 2 prize, she might well prove capable of taking another sizeable step forward to remain unbeaten.
