French banker of the day - 12th February 2026
Thursday’s French banker is an improving handicapper looking to follow up…

Fire Rebel - (Antonio Spanu/ Fabien Lefebvre)
Chantilly – R7 - Prix de Lassy
Fire Rebel has been a revelation back on the all-weather of late and looks well-poised to put up a bold bid in the Prix de Lassy.
A winner of three of his last four starts, Fire Rebel arrived at the very top of his game and it was tough not to be impressed with the manner in which he quickened up to put three and a half lengths between himself and his rivals in a competitive Class 2 handicap at Deauville last time.
The return to racing on Chantilly's all-weather track will prove no problem given he brings recent winning seven-furlong form to the table, while despite having run thirty times, it's quite possible this late maturing type still has plenty more to offer.
He's four from ten on the all-weather as well as being a two-time winner over this specialist trip.
Main market rival Shiawase hasn't run for 55 days and with that in mind, the bang in-form Fire Rebel gets the vote to continue his excellent run of recent form.
