French banker of the day – 27th January 2026
Tuesday’s French Banker is a Toronado filly looking to continue her good run of form…

Ocra (Patrice Cottier / Hugo Besnier)
Cagnes-Sur-Mer – R3 – Prix du Col de la Bonette
- Progressing with every start having been green on debut.
- Off the mark two starts ago at Pau and held form back there on handicap debut.
Ocra will look to continue her forward progress having kicked on from her maiden win in a handicap two weeks ago.
Patrice Cottier's filly showed promise on debut at Salon-de-Provence back in September, running on nicely to be beaten less than a length into fifth despite clear signs of inexperience throughout.
It was somewhat disappointing that she failed to build on her initial effort next time out, but she soon bounced back from a lesser effort with two decent third-place finishes in maiden company before the switch to handicaps seemed to work the oracle.
Switched to handicap company, she ran on nicely to get off the mark at Pau sixteen days ago and there's plenty of reason to suggest that she ought to be right in the mix once more. The daughter of Toronado has shown some solid form since being fitted with the tongue-tie, which is retained today, while the forecast pace on paper should suit her customary position just in behind the leaders.
There could be plenty more to come from this filly on just her second start in handicap company and with that in mind, she gets the vote to repeat the feat from her recent success.
