French Banker - 17th December 2025
Wednesday’s French Banker is an eight-time winner who looks ready for the step up to Listed level…

Icare Du Seuil ( Mickael Seror / Ludovic Philipperon )
Cagnes-sur-Mer – R3 – Prix du Comte de Nice
- Previously placed in Listed company back in 2022
- Arrives in sparkling form having won three of his last four starts
Icare Du Seuil has been steadily climbing back through the ranks this winter with three wins to his name and looks ready to tackle Listed company for the first time since March 2024 in the Prix du Comte de Nice.
Already boasting an impressive strike-rate, Icare Du Seuil has always promised to deliver at high levels following a bright start to his career. Often with gaps between his runs, Icare Du Seuil appears to like being kept fresh but has only been out of the first three places on five of his 17 completed starts. He has looked better than ever during the winter campaign to date, winning on three occasions including at this course a fortnight ago over a shorter trip. Icare De Seuil has faced Listed company three times in his career finishing fourth, second and most recently in March 2024 when finishing well held in fifth in the Prix Air Landais at Auteuil. Ludovic Philipperon keeps the ride having won on the gelding on his last start.
Icare Du Seuil is out of the dam Violette De Seuil who was a four-time winner in her career. Icare De Seuil is a half-brother to three other winners from the dam including one-time winner and prolific placer Hanouka Du Seuil.
Whilst Icare Du Seuil still has to prove he's capable of competing at this level, his form is strong and confidence will be high. He has plenty of winning form recently and that should count for plenty in this six-runner contest.
