A run of good form can translate into a well-deserved win for Aussie Nugget when he finds a suitable assignment at Doomben on Saturday.

Tony Gollan's gelding has been a model of consistency, putting four placings together since winning at this track.

The latest performance of Aussie Nugget was an eye catcher over a mile when he ran on for second so he looks ready to step in trip having missed by a nose the last time he attempted 2000m.

 

The day's feature is the Group 3 George Moore Stakes where Goldsborough looks a likely improver and makes each way appeal.

Gary Duncan's gelding made a strong return over 1000m a fortnight ago when he raced on pace and struck on well to go under by less than length.

He has yet to miss a place when second up and races well here with two wins and two placings from five attempts so can be right in this finish.
