Racing heats up on the Sunshine Coast this weekend with the running of the $160,000 Mooloolaba Cup and $125,000 Swiss Ace Plate.

We are heading into the Queensland Summer carnival now that the southern states have had their go with the running of the Mooloolaba Cup and Swiss Ace Plate at the Sunshine Coast this weekend.

Our best of the day sides with the well-related Warby out of the leading Tony Gollan stable. 

This half-brother to Group 1 winner, and now stallion, Captivant grows a leg for hoop Ryan Maloney who has only missed a drum once in nine steers on the son of Hellbent. 

This six-year-old gelding has a handy record over the seven-furlong journey and looks to be building up to another victory following a couple of placings in similar company. Maps ideally from gate three and a couple of early scratchings are in his favour. 

Our next best lobs in the feature, the $160,000 Mooloolaba Cup, in the form of the Group 1 Queensland Oaks placed mare Miss Joelene who should be ready to go second-up from the break. 

This daughter of Russian Revolution made up steady ground from the back when resuming at Eagle Farm and the step-up to the mile trip should be right in her wheelhouse come Saturday.
