ROSEHILL October 11

Best Bets

RACE 4 - (8) MARHOONA: What a relief to see a Golden Slipper winner return in winning form as a 3YO. She was too classy for her male rivals in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m) at this course two weeks ago, appreciating the good track and leaving them without an excuse as she was giving them weight and was clearly the strongest through the line. With 3.5kg less weight she is between 1.5kg and 4kg better off against the same rivals with the step up to 1200m the perfect progression off that win.

RACE 5 – (2) FARNICLE: The pros will be all over this promising Farnan colt if Marhoona wins the previous event as he was the only one to make late ground behind her when an eye catching first-up sixth, just over a length from the winner, in the Heritage Stakes two weeks ago. He was runner-up in the G2 Champagne over 1400m at Eagle Farm at only his second start last season and rates as the one to beat with his expected improvement in a race lacking depth.

RACE 8 - (2) LINDERMANN: His current form at this level stands out, leading throughout to beat Sir Delius in the Chelmsford Stakes before he was caught on the line by Fangirl in the 7 Stakes, both over 1600m at Randwick. This field lacks that star power and the extra 300m presents no issues as he's a three time winner up to 2000m on his home track – including the G1 Rosehill Guineas - and should be the one again dictating the pace.

Why They Can Win….

RACE 1 - (2) CHRISTA: Barriers all important in these wide open Highways. Form backs up her good draw.

RACE 2 - (2) VETWELVE: The unlucky one this company last time off a six weeks break. Suited this trip with extra fitness.

RACE 3 - (9) AGITA: Beat a lesser lot easily last Saturday. Suited again as she maps to get a similar run with 5.5kg less.

RACE 6 - (8) CHAMPAGNE HERO: Stamped his credentials at Newcastle. Has the talent to rise quickly.

RACE 7 - (6) GANGSTA GRANNY: Rates to win off her Autumn Glow/Manaal form. Good draw helps.

RACE 9 – (16) McHALE: Three time winner when fresh. Tough race but he's well placed down in the weights.

RACE 10 – (7) POLYGLOT: Placed all five starts this track. Maps to be the one getting the last run at them.

TRIAL POINTERS

WARWICK FARM October 3: AMAZING EAGLE has been off the scene for almost 12 months but this second exciting trial win ensures he is ready to perform first-up. Earned 2 stars for his Hawkesbury trial win last month and gets another high rating for this effort, cruising through his 818m heat in fast time (47.60; 33.08) for a dominant win.

HAWKESBURY September 15: We know AMAZING EAGLE has the talent and off this trial he will be well fancied to perform when he returns the races. As usual he was keen to run but there was plenty in reserve as he maintained an advantage for a classy win in his 800m heat (48.23; 32.98).

WYONG September 8: G1 winner GRINGOTTS controlled the speed in the open 1200m heat (71.57; 35.51), appreciating the good track conditions to record a comfortable win.
