Racing WA and the Blue Tree Project light up Gloucester Park for Mental Health Awareness
An important splash of blue has lit up Gloucester Park – literally.
On Friday night, Racing WA joined industry participants and government representatives to celebrate another milestone in its partnership with the Blue Tree Project through the Racing WA Community Fund.
Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti, Member for Perth John Carey, Member for Landsdale Daniel Pastorelli and Member for Mount Lawley Frank Paolino joined RWWA Board and Executive members as Blue Tree Project founder and CEO Kendall Whyte OAM delivered a powerful message around mental health awareness and turned on the blue spotlight.
The decision was made to light up one of the large trees on course, rather than paint a tree, to create a striking display at night and a lasting symbol of awareness.
The symbolic blue tree was illuminated in front thousands of racegoers after the third event at Gloucester Park's Italian Fireworks Night.
The simple yet powerful gesture serves as a symbol of hope and a reminder that it's OK to not be OK. It highlights the importance of speaking up, connecting with others and can help spark important conversations.
This initiative reflects Racing WA's ongoing commitment to fostering wellbeing and connection within the racing industry and across the wider community.
Through its partnership with the Blue Tree Project, Racing WA continues to amplify important conversations about mental health and drive positive impact beyond the racetrack.
