GOODFORM – Bronte’s best at Bendigo Wednesday
Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for tonight’s meeting at Bendigo.

Selections & 10-Unit Betting Strategy »
Race 1:OVERVIEW: JACQUELYN JOY (4) looks to have found a suitable race to break through for her maiden victory. She ran well last start at Ballarat with James Herbertson taking the reins. There's little exposed gate speed form from the horses drawn inside her, but she should have enough gate speed and respect to find a forward position here. LITTLE WONDER (6) has had one career start where she went amiss, but that was 459 days prior to this race. She has had two promising trials this year. Whatever she does in this run, she will improve. MANFREDI (3) hit the line really well two starts back in the race won by Allgood Vinnie. The start after, he was shuffled back to last at Melton but ran on OK. With luck, he's a winning chance here. SWEET FACE (9) got caught in the breeze in the 2690-metre trip last start, he got tired late but raced ok. At start 103, he is looking to breakthrough with his maiden win.

Race 2:
OVERVIEW: HEATSEEKER (5) broke the track record two starts ago at Charlton, although the record was beaten again in the following race, it was a massive run. He backed it up with a good win last start at Ballarat. His last two starts, Ewa Justice was driving and he has clicked well for the talented reinswoman who gets back on in this event. SERGEANT LOU (7) is a talented horse. He was a feature race winner at three, but only raced twice as a four-year-old. He's second up here now at five. His return to racing was solid and he will have improved significantly from that performance. Tricky barrier here but he's a talented type. HES NO ROMEO (8) is a progressive, versatile horse. He will get a cosy run here but will be relying on luck. FEEL THE REIGN (4) is an older horse but he's back near career-best form this campaign. With his recent wins, his races are getting a bit harder with his rating rising again. However, he is full of confidence.

Race 3:
OVERVIEW: THE GOLDEN HOOK (8) was so eye-catching last start, finding gaps between runners to flash home to win. Trainer-driver Tasmyn Potter has this runner flying. He will need luck from the barrier but if he gets space late, he will be flashing home. SHAZZA LOVE (1) is in great form, finishing in the top two in her last five starts. Perfect barrier here to be right in this. BREATHE EASY (3) is flying at the moment. If he has luck, he's a great winning chance. Although he's fast out, he has two good gate speed horses inside him so the map could prove tricky. CALYPSO MISTRESS (4) hit the line really well three starts back at Ballarat. Her last two starts were a bit below her best. If she brings her best form, she's a place chance here. Shoutout to the trotter Tweedledee taking on the pacers here from barrier nine.

Race 4:
OVERVIEW: REALLY SMARTIE (5) has won his last three starts, all with different race maps. He has the best sectional times in this event. He doesn't have the best gate speed so may need to be saved for one run or make his own luck, but he's versatile and racing well. MISS PIGGY WIGGY (8) has a good sprint and is a great swooper. She is the only horse on the second row, so she has options whether she stays on the fence or comes off. REIGN EM IN (1) has been out of the winner's circle for some time, but he has great gate speed and a good barrier to use to his advantage. INSIDER TRADING (4) hit the line well last start at Charlton. He is racing well and, with luck, will be a good swooper late.

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: BUTLERS WHARF (8) has had two career starts and won well last start, well held on the line. He is still learning all about trotting and racing but looks a promising type with a nice future. JUST A JOURNEY (3) has had two starts as a two-year-old for one win. She is first up this year with a new trainer and a recent trial win at Bendigo. If she trots throughout, she's right in this. SAMMY HALLER (6) got well back but hit the line well into fourth last start at Shepparton. He was checked or broke in his prior three starts. He is racing better than it looks on paper. WOMAN TO LOVE (1) was an eye-catcher on debut, racing in the breeze throughout and only narrowly beaten late. She will improve from that run.
SELECTIONS: BUTLERS WHARF (8), JUST A JOURNEY (3), SAMMY HALLER (6), WOMAN TO LOVE (1)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: PASTOR DUNBAR (7) has had one start for one win and he was impressive. He had to settle near last, make a wide run, race in the breeze and then pull away to win. That win was at the end of last year and he is first up here. His barrier isn't ideal, but it gives him time and space to settle early. ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (1) is first up this year and, although her numerical form only looks fair, she raced against the best of her age group last year in the Vicbred Super Series and Breeders Crown. She's likely to come back better. If she trots throughout, she's a winning chance. SHINEIKETHESUN (8) has ability but is still figuring racing out. She can gallop, but if her manners hold, she has a great turn of foot. BET BET HOTSHOT (6) broke through with a well-deserved maiden win last start. He had to do it tough and comes into this with confidence.
SELECTIONS: PASTOR DUNBAR (7), ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (1), SHINEIKETHESUN (8), BET BET HOTSHOT (6)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: KORENGAL VALLEY (3) has the best sectional times in this field. He also has gate speed and a barrier to get forward. Plenty of respect for the Herbertson–Graham combination. WORTH THE EXTRA (6) is lightly raced with four starts for one win. On times, he is a great swooper, so if saved for one run he will be flashing home. MAXBECA (4) and CROCODILE BLOOD (7) both have awkward barriers but are racing well enough that, with some luck, they are each-way chances.
