The opportunity to get involved in Overpass just days out from The Gold Rush proved too good to resist for one buyer, who bought into the gelding via a Magic Millions Digital Sale just days out from the $1.5 million event.

Blue Arrow Equine paid $40,000 for a five percent share in the seven-year-old son of Vancouver, who is $3.60 favourite for The Gold Rush, which will be run at Ascot.

First prize in Saturday's race is $822,000, meaning Blue Arrow Equine would collect $34,935, minus trainer and jockey percentages, should Overpass win The Gold Rush.

The outgoing owner enjoyed a profitable few years part of the team with Overpass, a $75,000 Easter yearling, who has amassed $12.3m in earnings with 10 wins and seven placings from 34 starts.

He was one of two Darby Racing high-achievers who realised good money on the Magic Millions sale that concluded on Wednesday with a five percent share in Within The Law selling for $70,000.

It was bought by Highway Farm, a name often used by the Yulong operation, who bought 11.5 percent in the $1.7 million-earning daughter of Lucky Vega at the November Magic Millions Digital Sale.

"Our owners who were selling these shares are ecstatic with the results," Darby Racing's Scott Darby said.

"Both were happy to trade out but only if the price was right and Magic Millions delivered on that."

Outside the Darby Racing pair, Stakes-performed multiple city winning Blackfriars mare Ghobella, who is currently in foal to prominent Western Australian sire Maschino, was the top lot after selling to Boomer Bloodstock for $70,000.

Magic Millions have upped the ante in the digital space in recent months and will conduct another digital sale from January 2-7, a week before its prized Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
