VALUE:

Race 1 11:42 Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap
Hard to go past the recent trial of Ferivia, where she ambled up to handy stablemate La Roux under a stranglehold and cruised past late. This race sets up nicely with a hot speed expected, and punters can look forward to what this Astern filly produces down the centre of the track over the concluding stages. TOO DARN CRYSTAL makes the trip across the border resuming for the Kent/ Price Jnr team and will lead these for fun on what we have seen in her two runs to date in January. Too speedy at Cranbourne, then went like a scalded cat in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview before folding late. Will give a sight. SI SINORA had his chance when a close-up fourth in the Magic Millions Rewards race here behind Matahga, who has since won the listed Oaklands Plate. WICKED STORM is the only other winning hope; he will be hitting the line hard.Tips: Ferivia 1, Wicked Storm 2, To Darn Crystal 3, Si Sinora 4.
Suggested play: Ferivia over the top. Win.
Race 2 12:17 Thomas Farms Handicap
David Brideoake and Matt Jenkins make the trip across the border again with handy mare Fiasco Tess after her last start win at Morphettville, where she was ridden a treat by Jacob Opperman. A different scenario here, where they may have to push forward early and sit outside Frances Boy. Despite the rise in weight, Opperman sticks, and I am happy to stick with her while she is in this rich vein of form. STARTS NOW scored a well-deserved win in the 0-64 grade three weeks ago at Morphettville over this trip, where he powered to the line in a truly run race. Not that much of a step up here, and gets 2kg weight relief on that performance. Tempo? Allotted 60 kg, SNOOPY NOW is giving weight to the older horses, but must still be ticking over ok after racing well over the Carnival. KATIM'S CLUB looks well weighted to give some check from a midfield position. She deserves to win a metro race.Tips: Fiasco Tess 1, Starts Now 2, Katim's Club 3, Snoopy Now 4.
Suggested play: Fiasco Tess each-way.
Race 3 12:52 River Murray Trading Post Handicap
Cranbourne trainer Nathan Dunn has unfinished business in SA after Corona Lad was grabbed on the line by Magnetic Edge at Morphettville on June 21 at Benchmark 68 level. Slightly more depth here, but the 5kg drop in weight is advantageous. Rochelle Milnes rides again. The Michael Hickmott-trained EXALTED FIRE has been racing well in similar races. Right in this.Big watch on another Victorian raider in PARADISE STORM, who was solid first up with the big weight at Ballarat. DIXIE WHISTLER looks your likely leader and can give some real cheek at odds if allowed to control the race.Tips: Carona Lad 1, Exalted Fire 2, Paradise Storm 3, Dixie Whistler 4.
Suggested play: Happy to watch on.
Race 4 13:27 Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap
Caladan should be able to boot through the rails and hold the front with DYER, WHOOPS A DAISIE and DUCHESS OF SUSSEX to be in close attendance. From there, Jake Toeroek will wake the big boy up at the top of the straight, and he will be mighty hard to get past. The son of Tassort handled the rise in grade with aplomb last start defeating subsequent winner Ginger Sinner in the Metro class 1 when well fancied ($1.85-$1.75). Given an easy time of it in the recent trial win to keep him ready for this. NOETZIE draws wide, and they will likely have to take their medicine and snag back or possibly ride for cover midfield. Capable of steaming down the middle of the track with decent tempo at the front. Good early betting support suggests he will be the danger late. DYER is stuck on well enough when resuming, but just finds a tricky map here. WHOOPS A DAISY goes in the exotics at a price after a solid trial win recently.Tips: Caladan 1, Noetzie 2, Whoops A Daisy 3, Dyer 4.
Suggested play: Caladan win.
Race 5 14:02 Dutton's Easy to do business with!! Handicap
An open betting race with low confidence levels awaits, with the enigmatic Lomax heading early betting, so there must be value in the race. The Stephen Theodore-trained TAKE A PICK maps for a soft run with cover, as again draws the rail as we saw in his last start four-length romp at Balaklava. Todd Pannell sticks and likes the push from the trainer during the week, suggesting he can win better races than this. SHAKESPEAR is a must-include, seems to race well this time of year with the sting out of the tracks. The Warrnambool-trained MARK OF THE MAN backs up for the fourth week in a row in SA, a tad disappointing at latest, but there's a chance if it gets the right run at the top. LOMAX to flood home for fourth.Tips: Take A Pick 1, Shakespeare 2, Mark Of The Man 3, Lomax 4.
Suggested play: Something on Take A Pick.
Race 6 14:42 Thomas Farms Handicap
Open betting race and suggest looking for value. Rich Gina will likely get the favours as we saw in her first-up effort behind Left Turn Clyde a fortnight ago. The Searle and Callanan stable have been patient with her, and she still has something to offer at this level. The Chris Beig-trained VOLTAGE POINT was rewarded for a consistent preparation with a win last start, specked in betting ($17-$11), he swooped late off a wide run.NURYS backs up again; she is a much improved galloper, but will still need a few things to go right in the big field. Step up in grade for ANOTHERHOUSE, but that's offset with a significant weight drop.Tips: Rich Gina 1, Nurys 2, Voltage Point 3, Anotherhouse 4.
Suggested play: Rich Gina 1x2.
Race 7 15:22 Carlton Draught Handicap
Victorian raider Oak Park Rebel has been here before and taken the spoils in January. Resumes off a super impressive jump-out win at Casterton and normally comes to hand pretty quickly. The ability is there with RICHE D'AMOUR, with his mind on the job, he is capable of taking this out. Barrier beat HIGH ON SUGAR at most recent start, no favours here either. BLANC VISAGE, TALKING ITALIAN and INVERTATIONAL all chances in a race where you wouldn't be shocked if anything won. Field in the quaddie job.Tips: Oak Park Rebel 1, Riche D'amour 3, High On Sugar 4.
Suggested play: Oak Park Rebel each-way.
Race 8 15:57 Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Gold Cup – Book Now Handicap
Another wide-open big field, and you will be rewarded if you can find the winner.Swycho didn't have much go his way upon his return. Better draw should see a kinder run in transit, and he's there at the business end of the race. Represents a solid each-way play.HEADPHONES come into play if they are getting home from the back later in the day. Adding RED ROOF, EXTRA HOT and ZARKANA in exotics bets. Monitor if the rain hangs around for Wednesday's winner, IMPENDING DIAMOND.Tips: Swycho 1, Headphones 2, Extra Hot 3, Red Roof 4.
Suggested play: Something on Swycho
Race 9 16:33 Fred Vella Tyre & Crash Repair Handicap
Excuses for The Sprinkler for his last start failure, and it would pay to just forget he went round. Go on his thrilling win at the start prior to the Thomas Farms Racing Rewards 3YO race over Colmar. Slight concern about the gate, but with even luck, it should be thereabouts. The Travis Doudle-trained MERCHANT BOSS is the other main chance. Can let down nicely when race run to suit and maps to lob right on the back of the speed coiled up here from the low draw. WATADEEL can show up fresh, and GIN RUMMY is one for the first four players.Tips: Merchant Boss 1. The Sprinkler 2, Watadeel 3, Gin Rummy 4.
Suggested play: Merchant Boss each-way
