Doomben - 12th July 2025
Doomben plays host to a competitive nine-race card this Saturday.
We're back at Doomben this weekend and whilst there's no black type on offer there are still nine races that present nine investment opportunities.
We try to build a bank early doors with the Tony Gollan-conditioned galloper Sicilian in the second event.
This former Waterhouse/Bott mare should be cherry-ripe now fifth run back from a lengthy break and does save her best form for this 1100m distance range.
Draws the inside marble here and gets in well at the weights with Emily Lang's 1.5kg claim. Handles all going and strikes a very winnable contest on Saturday.
You should be able to find each-way odds over the next day or so and a return to the winners' stall would not surprise.
We keep our powder dry until the last event for our value play with us lobbing with Noble Decree out of the astute David Vandyke barn.
Saluted over this track and trip last time out and again draws favourably in gate two. His only true failure came on a dodgy Heavy 10 surface with all other seven outings being full of merit.
Currently shopping around the $6 quote and a 1W x 3P type wager looks to round out the card on a high note.
