"We weren't going to run when we saw barrier 20. I looked through the program and there was nothing else on for him. Robbie had a plan but I don't think it worked.

"At worse he was going to be three-deep with cover but I don't think he had any cover so I think he did a good job.

"We probably left him a colt too long but he's good in the barriers now."

"He's a talented horse. He's very clever. That is the first time I've ridden him. He jacked up over the side and I have to stand over him just to get him to the gates.

"Once I did that he was like 'alright I'lll go with it. He's actually a nice horse because I drew wide and I stayed wide on him. All the way down the side I was all the way down the track then I jacked him across and we ended up getting a lovely cart forward.

"I hit the front a long way from home and he battled all the way to the line."
