Winning Trainer: Paul Messara & Leah Gavranich
On the ride: "Credit to Leah (Gavranich) who rides her everyday, my co-trainer with me, very exciting. It was a hell of a ride, he went back and made all the right decisions and that was sensational."
On what's next: "It was just today and then we'll worry about the rest after that. Delighted for the slot holders, it's just been an amazing run. Great people. It's a race that we've wanted to win and it's fantastic."
On his staff back at Scone: "Big crew. There will be a bit of money behind the bar tonight at the RSL I can tell you that, it will be going wild up there. Thanks to all my crew at home and thanks to everyone that puts in, it's a lot of effort. To win these big races on these big days, you need everything to go right."
Winning Jockey: Tyler Schiller
On his third win in the race: "I missed it last year, but great to be back this year and get a third one on the board."
On the horse: "Such a lovely progressive mare. The Messara team and Leah have done a great job there, so I can't take too much credit."
On the run: "Had a great run in transit from the bad draw and she dashed when she needed to. She was probably more brave than me, I pointed her in the right direction and the speed was really genuine which helped. I tracked up to the corner and just ran into a bit of dead ends but to her credit she's got a great turn of foot so she didn't need room down the outside. Paul said she can lay in under pressure but she didn't get a chance to today. She has just dashed through and hit the front and put them away nicely."
Beaten Jockeys:
Tim Clark (Front Page): "I thought he was really brave in defeat."
Zac Purton (Bandi's Boy): "Out of control."
Adam Hyeronimus (Compelling Truth): "That is not him. I'm sure he'll have a spell now and be back better next prep."
Christian Reith (Melody Again): "She ran well. I just felt 1200m is too short for her now. Will take great improvement off that run."
Michael Dee (Golden Decade): "Track if firming up now. Appreciate getting is toe in."
Tommy Berry (Boston Rocks): "Just got held up when we needed to move into the race. Finished off well. A very honest horse and ran up to his efforts."
Zac Lloyd (Gallant Star): "He went enormous. Great training effort by Brett to get him here first up. Gee he tries hard. He was fighting back late. He is a lovely horse."
Kerrin McEvoy (Lisztomania): "He ran fantastic. He is in great form. Finished with a great finish. Credit to the team."
Billy Owen (So Magnificent): No comment
Chad Schofield (Highway Strip): "He has had a long prep. Raced flat."
Craig Williams (Without Parallel): "In that top competitive race she acquitted herself really well from the draw."
Jason Collett (Chidiac): "Far better run today. Hit the front at the furlong. Winner was pretty good."
