The final week of The Pinnacles are upon us with the Gold Rush the highlight on another big day of racing.

As has been the case in the last few weeks, they've put plenty of irrigation on during the week with the track coming up a Soft 5 on Thursday.

The Gold Rush is arguably the best race during The Pinnacles carnival, with all three features funneling into the $1.5million feature event. If you're looking for a more in-depth preview of The Gold Rush, my amigo Trent Crebbin has all you need to know ahead of the feature - which you can read right here!

While we're at it, a big thank you must go the way of Racing WA for supporting the Best From The West during The Pinnacles.

Early on in the day, a couple of progressive types return in the MCA Polytrack Handicap, a RTG 66+ over the 1000m, with one of those being the Casey-trained WANT A WINNER.

The son of Yes Yes Yes has showed plenty of ability in his early career, though his profile would suggest he's had some niggling issues throughout his short tenure.

Last campaign he was able to string some good races together, particularly when on top of the ground, and his recent trial coming into this was very strong ahead of Apulia.

Something worth noting however, is that Chris Parnham - who has been on board the whole way through - rides the main market danger in Haida Gwaii following some impressive trial performances recently.

Both are nice sprinters on the rise, though Want A Winner loses nothing with Pike being on board and he's unbeaten first-up through three attempts.

This presents as a brilliant opportunity for Want A Winner to show his class and what he's threatened to do in his career thus far, and he can return with a bang.

It's no surprise to see some early money come for SMOOTH CHINO in the Black Heart Bart Stakes, opening as big as $2.60 and now being trimmed up to almost even money at the time of writing.

That being said, I still think there's some juice in his price third-up into the campaign and with the set up at hand today.

He looks a horse destined for Group races in the autumn and this is his first taste (away from Restricted Listed) that he gets to put that on show.

The map looks beautiful for him once again, he can lob just off the speed, which in turn looks his main danger in Cessation, and he exploded to win the Magic Millions 3YO when third-up last campaign.

Smooth Chino looks a horse we can continue to follow this weekend as he looks to remain unbeaten.
