HAWTHORN v BRISBANE

Saturday 24 May @ MCG

What a cracker of a game. This may well be a Prelim Final or even possibly bigger. And yet they both lost last outing.

The one big thing here is the Lions venture south and while they won a couple of big games there recently, against the Hawks it's not pretty.

Hawthorn lost to Gold Coast but it appears everyone does that at their home away from home.

To the Hawks credit they didn't give up and even hit the front entering the last quarter. Momentum was their way but couldn't withstand.

The little forwards had big influences but can't get down in the mire in every game.

Match Hawthorn Brisbane Ground
Last time they met    15.10 [100] 10.15 [75] Marvel
Last 10 matches 6 wins 4 wins
Notes Hawthorn has won the last 5.
Last time the Lions beat the Hawks at the MCG was 2004.
Brisbane still sits second after a draw and a loss in the most recent two efforts. That reflects how they are playing.

You would think there are a few issues to overcome to go at the MCG. Others are playing better and we still think the lack of a Daniher to straighten them up hurts.

Fancy Hawthorn quite a bit here. They come back home and while losing to Gold Coast, that was honourable and hardly poor.

A fast game on the big ground can spread the Lions and so Hawthorn to win.

Match Selection: Hawthorn by 17 points

Suggested Bets: Hawthorn -10.5 @ $1.90
