If the prospect of another Winx foal heading into the marketplace was enough to headline bloodstock news next year, how much more value is there to be found given that the weanling colt will be one of a collector's item-style bunch to be sold as progeny of the ill-fated star sire Snitzel?

The $10 million fetched for the filly by Pierro at the 2024 Inglis Easter Sale made headlines beyond the usual racing and bloodstock media and the dizzying figure would be one of dreams again for the sale in April 2026.

The owners of the colt - Peter & Patty Tighe, Woppitt Bloodstock, Elizabeth Treweeke and Rick Treweeke - have confirmed the colt will be catalogued for the sale at Riverside Stables in Sydney.

"He's a very handsome boy," part-owner and winning bidder of the Pierro filly Debbie Kepitis said.

"From the day he was born he's been a very charismatic horse. He has been bred to win a Cox Plate and anyone who looks at him tells me that he has all the right physical characteristics to be an elite racehorse.''

"First and foremost, the objective of the ownership group has been to try and breed the best racehorse possible out of the mare and I think this colt gives them genuine cause to be very excited," Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch said.

"He is a handsome colt with great movement and an unflappable temperament. He's a special sort of horse."

Winx achieved a peakTimeform rating of 134 with four Cox Plate victories among her 33-straight victories – 25 of them at group one level - throughout her extraordinary career.

Four-time Australian champion sire Snitzel died at Arrowfield Stud earlier in June.
