Getting Rich On Bubbles

Lindsay Park gelding Rich On Bubbles showed his toughness with victory in the Listed Valley Pearl (1200m) completing a winning hat-trick in the process.

Starting his latest campaign at Pakenham, the Ben, Will and J D Hayes-trained galloper then had a trip to Murray Bridge where he collected the Magic Millions 2YO Classic before returning home to earn 'Black Type' for his connections.

"We just feel that interstate trip really brought him on mentally," Will Hayes said.

"He handled it well, he's a tough horse and stands up to the workload."

Hayes said the stable would look at options in Sydney and Adelaide for Rich On Bubbles in a bid to extend the winning streak.

"He has been up a long time, and three in a row is a good effort, but we'll be guided by how he pulls up," Hayes said.

"There are lovely options in Adelaide and Sydney, and he might be one that can step up to 1400 (metres) and there's also Victorian options, too.

"It's a great position to be in and I can't wait for the Monday discussion."

Rich On Bubbles victory brought up a double for Lindsay Park after earlier scoring with Ka Ying Cheer, who also notched a winning treble, in the Ladbrokes Odds Surge Handicap (1200m).

Ya Ying Cheer came to Australia as the travelling partner for Ka Ying Rising ahead of The Everest last year and stayed on in Australia joining the Lindsay Park team.

Feeling good after two-on-the-trot

Getta Good Feeling made it two wins on the trot for the campaign with her victory in the Group 3 Alexandra Stakes (1600m).

The Danny O'Brien-trained filly took out the Inglis Sprint (1200m) at Flemington when resuming before appreciating the rise in trip on Saturday.

Getta Good Feeling was sent out a $21 chance in the first run of the campaign, but on Saturday went out the $1.40 favourite.

The Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on April 25 is the race O'Brien has picked out to get the filly her elusive Group 1 victory.

Jack Howard, representing the O'Brien stable, said Getta Good Feeling was likely to return to Caulfield on April 11 to contest the Listed Anniversary Vase (1600m) against older horses before heading to Adelaide.

"She doesn't have that Group 1 on her page at the moment and that's obviously the aim," Howard said.

"She's a multiple Group 2 winner and hopefully we can get that there.

"We'll take her home, we'll look after her and then we'll plot our path from here to there."

Class drop suits Point Barrow

A drop in class has seen Point Barrow back in the winner's enclosure in the Group 3 Don Casboult Classic (1200m).

Point Barrow was sent out the $2.60 favourite when finishing fifth first-up in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) last month.

Despite a hefty rise of 8.5kg in weight, Point Barrow was back against three-year-old fillies' company on Saturday and was sent out the $2.80 favourite, a longer price than what she started against the older horses in the Oakleigh Plate.

That fact was not lost on co-trainer Sam Freedman, although the filly did pull up a little sore after the Oakleigh Plate.

"She's a good filly and we probably didn't see the best of her in an Oakleigh Plate, albeit she still ran pretty well," Freedman said.

"But she pulled up sore, her action late didn't look great, but she trialled Monday and looked terrific.

"We've got a terrific team of vets and a good farrier, and she needed a bit of work after the run in the Oakleigh Plate."

The Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on April 25 has been in the planning for the filly since she returned to work this campaign.

But Freedman said how the filly travelled to Adelaide was a discussion to be had.

"She's a cantankerous filly that gets a little bit warm at times," Freedman said.

"We've got to work out whether we travel her over earlier and have a run and let her settle into an environment or whether we go for a hit and run and just keep her away from the track and just present on race day," Freedman said.
