Week back-up should suit Rich Minx
Hoysted happy to start Rich Minx again to chase another win at Ipswich.
It has worked before and it could work again as Matt Hoysted is comfortable with backing the well fancied Rich Minx up at Ipswich on Wednesday.
The five-year-old mare finished second seven days ago at Doomben in Benchmark 68 company at Doomben after winning at Gold Coast on the polytrack over 1100-metres on October.
A firmer in betting from $2.60 into $2.30 since markets opened on Tuesday morning, Rich Minx will again be steered by three-kilo claiming apprentice Jai Williams in the Great Northern Class 5 Handicap (1100m).
"She was really good last Wednesday but we bumped into a pretty smart one," Hoysted said referencing Doomben winner Moulin Miss.
"She was used up a bit from the gate but she still gave a good kick and ran well."
Rich Minx ran a Racing and Sports ratings peak of 90 in that Doomben outing.
"This is an attractive race and the week turnaround doesn't have any reservations as we did that with her a couple of runs ago when she won at the Gold Coast when she was on a quicker backup," Hoysted added.
"She's thriving at the moment and she's handling her racing well."
Rich Minx will start from barrier one in the field of eight.
"We know the gate is important for her so with the rails, hopefully we can get a jump and run as she normally and shouldn't be doing any work early," he said.
Hot weather and a possible overnight storm could be heading Ipswich's way with the track rated a Soft 5.
