Hawkesbury's leading trainer Brad Widdup called a halt to Pro Velocity 's campaign after she scored on Newcastle's Beaumont track today.

Ridden by Christian Reith, the four-year-old daughter of Proisir and High Chaparral mare High Spin was sent out t $6 and outgamed Stormzino ($3.10 second favorite) in the Class 1/Maiden Plate (2100m) at the country TAB meeting.

"That's it," Widdup said this evening.

"Pro Velocity has reached her mark here, and it's best to call it quits going out a winner.

"She will do her future racing in Tasmania."

Widdup's wife Milissa and daughter Maddison have been racing Pro Velocity with her breeder John Clancy.

Widdup joked that he might have to step in to sort out a family disagreement, with Pro Velocity to leave his stable.

"Milissa wasn't keen on bringing her back this preparation when she hadn't won in 10 starts," he said.

"But I've managed to win two races with her this time.

"Milissa won't mind Pro Velocity leaving, but Maddison wants her to stay.

"However, it's the right time to stop with the mare. At least she is going out a winner with us."

Pro Velocity was Widdup's 34th winner this season, and his career 452nd.

Meanwhile, he is hoping for a favorable barrier for his star sprinter Jedibeel in Saturday's $750,000 Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield.

Widdup's foreperson Rosie Jilla is in Melbourne looking after Jedibeel, who will get a "feel" of Caulfield by working there in the morning from his Flemington base.
