We head onto the main track at Pinjarra this weekend for the Belmont Guineas on what looks a picturesque day in the west.

The course is currently rated a Soft 5, though with good weather expected for the rest of the week and on Saturday, it wouldn't surprise to see the track end up in the Good range.

The Belmont Guineas looks a great race, particularly with how it shapes up following the Raconteur Stakes a fortnight ago.

Opportunistic got the job done in the Raconteur at just his second start, highlighting his above-average ability and still showing his inexperience in the run to the line.

Under the conditions in the Guineas however, he meets both Elite Missile and Storyville worse at the weights despite that effort.

Storyville is the big winner with the set weights, meeting the Raconteur winner five kilos better despite looking plain in the finish last time out. The margin was 2.5 lengths in the Raconteur, but she was also plain second-up last campaign before going on to win the Champion Fillies and WA Guineas, both over the mile.

Redback Flyer adds some interest after winning three on-end in easier company up to 1800m and has done so in comfortable fashion. This is a big jump in grade, though he has shown good ability and it wouldn't surprise to see him in the finish.

Over to the Best Bets on the card and while he is short, REPOSSESSION still looks to have some juice in his price.

The way he finished off down the Pinjarra straight last start suggests the 1200m won't be an issue and he brings in the highest last start rating with Racing and Sports with further improvement expected third-up into the campaign.

His only try over the 1200m was in the Listed Placid Ark Stakes where he was beaten a length and jumped a $6.50 chance, with that form working out to a level.

Repossession is better and more mature horse than what he was then and can add the 1200m string to his bow.

Keeping up with the progressive 3YO theme, WANT A WINNER is another I want to be with in race six this Saturday,

He looks a classy type, though his soundness may be the thorn in his side as Sean and Jake Casey have been unable to have a good run with him just yet.

The son of Yes Yes Yes resumed off a 318-day break to score in February before being put away for a spell, whether it was enforced or by choice is not public knowledge, but he's shown good ability, and he maps to get his chance on resumption.

His trial suggests he's up to the mark, and if he can improve as he has done early in his career, he can get the job done once again.
