SOHO SPECTRE (7) after getting checked in the run home finished tenth last start over 1720m at Melton, beaten 40 metres, after finishing fourth at Riverina Paceway the run prior. The driver has some work to do from this wide starting position. His last run should be overlooked. Good enough to win a race of this calibre. A nice draw on the front line should ensure a cosy run. It doesn't get any easier but he is good enough to take this race out. SWEETHEART BART (4) has to come into calculations on the back of some strong recent form, most recently when third of 10 at this track over 2300m when trying to lead all of the way. Could prove hard to peg back. TOMAHAWK BART (5) is the next elect off a last-start win by a neck at this track over 1609m after coming from three-back on the fence into the straight. Has won five of nine starts at this track and rates well as an each-way chance. SWEET ON LEXY (9) must be considered after he finished runner-up over 2300m at this track five weeks ago when trying to lead all of the way as the favourite.
Race 5:
EYE KEEP SMILING (10) made it six wins on the trot last start when she won a Group One over 1609m at this track by a nose as the odds-on favourite after racing outside the leader for most of the trip. Another win is on the cards. STENO (9) lines up in an easier race after being edged out last start by the top selection in a Group One over 1609m at this track. Race 6:
PLAY IT COOL (5) has been racing very well and deserved his win last start, scoring by 5 metres over 1740m at Riverina Paceway as the hot favourite when leading all of the way. Facing a tougher assignment in what is his first run at this track but he is up to the task. EXCESS VITALITY (3) has recorded two wins and two minor placings from the past five starts. Lines up for a hat-trick after a fine win last start when after racing three wide over the early stages found the lead and did well to go on and score by 5.5 metres at Bathurst over 2260m. Sure to enjoy an economical run from this draw. Meeting a deeper field this time but he is up to the challenge. LOVE LOU (12) is looming as a real threat after a better effort last start when finishing second of 10 at Newcastle over 1609m when after leading early took up the trailing position. HEAVENLY SONG (8) has been about the mark of late and must be respected, the latest offering a sound third at Tamworth over 1609m.
Race 7:
DON HUGO (11) resumes from a spell of nine weeks after showing some very good form last campaign, the last run being a fourth over 2200m at Cambridge Raceway when trying to lead all of the way. Has to contend with a very wide draw abut is sure to be right there at the finish. MAJOR PERRY (4) comes here following a fourth behind Kingmaker at Listed level a week ago over 1609m at this track when sent out at long odd. Drawn well so a return to form will not surprise. JAY OK (10) comes here following a ninth of 10 behind Kingmaker at Listed level a week ago over 1609m at this track after having little luck in the running. Race 8:
MIRACULOUS (8) ex NZ trained gelding who ran fifth last start at Central Southland Raceway over 2400m, beaten 16 metres. Tactics will be crucial from this wide draw. Now trained by Jason Grimson and is expected to go a bold race FORCE FULL (10) was a neck away in second at this track over 1609m last start at his first run back from a spell. Tactics will be crucial from this wide draw. That latest effort is good enough to take out a race like this. DONEGAL LUTHER (7) is on the radar after his last-start sixth of 10 over 1609m at this track two weeks ago when well supported. Worth another chance. MAURLEN BOY (4) should not have any excuses from the favourable draw and is a must include in exotic bets.
Race 9:
TOP OF THE MOMENT (11) is back from campaigning in Queensland and is having his first run from the Kerryann Morris stable. She produced him to win a trial here very easily, and he does drop in grade here. Hard to beat this time. VALTINO (8) will be peaking third up and will be dropping right down in class for this. He will be driven more positively this time, and a form reversal is expected. SPEEDY LOVER (1) has been thereabouts all year and will be trying to put a gap on his rivals early with a quick start from the pole position. He will have to be at his very best to beat the top 2 picks, but he is genuine and won't be far away. HANOVER DA MOON (12) has won 4 times on this track over the trip, and he can make light work of his 20m handicap. He is nicely placed at this level and should go close to taking this out. Stick with him.
