Winning Trainer: Phillip Stokes
How did he get the job done today? "To start with, he jumped well today, held a position, Harry gave him a beautiful ride, got him out at the right time and he's been building up for this.
"He's been racing really well. He's a backmarker that needs luck and (I'm) really happy for the connections, they've been very patient with him and the team at home have done a really good job of him.
Is 1100m his pet trip?: "He runs 1200, but he's an easy horse to place, he's still low in the ratings, so we'll just keep going through his grades.
"But he's a really nice little horse and connections are having a lot of fun."
Winning Jockey: Harry Coffey
How the race panned out: "It just panned out beautifully. When you draw one, obviously there's some trickiness if your horse gets back, but he was able to actually get into a nice spot.
"They really flowed on and that allowed the field to break up and I was able to make my path to the middle of the track quite easily and, I actually admit, when he quickened he quickened like he was going to win quite well, but old Philosopher, he was tough, he put on a real show and he took a lot of getting past.
"Good effort, but credit to the second, he was tough.
Pre-race talk and tactics: "Phil doesn't say much, it was pretty simple. He just said try and have him as close as you can, he does have a tendency to not want to jump, but he jumped reasonably for Lachie at Pakenham, so he said keep in mind that you don't want to be falling out the back and giving him too much to do.
"Because it was a small field, I was able to still get in a nice spot and then he said if you expose him early, he might peak on his run quickly and then if that was to happen, he can find again with the whip in the left.
"We sort of nailed all them aspects and got the job done."
