Clinton Mcdonald has bigger plans in store for Miss Ole, but this Saturday's Next Generation Sprinters Series heat at Flemington is an important step in her future.

The $150,000 event over 1100 metres for two-year-olds will help trainer Clinton McDonald assess spring options for the daughter of Ole Kirk.

Miss Ole has thrived since her gritty 1000m win at Sandown on May 24 and McDonald said she only needs to work well on Tuesday morning to book the third start of her debut campaign.

"She's come through the run in great order, looks great, she's nice and bright, so she'll work on Tuesday and if she comes through that we'll head to Flemington," he said.

"(Over) 1100 down the straight, I'm really keen to see her there and give her that experience down the straight and that sets her up for the spring.

"She's a high-class filly. I like her, I think she's a Stakes horse."

The Sandown win followed a debut fifth placing in the VOBIS Gold Strike (1000m) at Warrnambool during the May Carnival, when her chances were cruelled by a slow start, and McDonald said that gap between the first and second starts had been good for Miss Ole.

"She had four weeks from her first start to her second run, so I think it's nice timing," he said.

"It's got a good feel to it, I've got momentum with her and she should be right."

Saturday's meeting continues the build-up to the July 5 Finals Day card with heats for several other events to be conducted.

There is no Winter Championship heat, but the TAB / ATA Trainers' Trust Handicap (1100m) is a heat of the Creswick Series for three-year-olds, while heats of the Mahogany Series and Silver Bowl will also be conducted for that age group.
