Rain before race: "Everyone was ducking for cover, but it didn't worry Steel Move at all."
Momentum with Godolphin runners: "It's just amazing to have that quality of horse in your stable. Godolphin handed over some real bluebloods and this guy, a son of Blue Point, to win a VOBIS race today, an important VOBIS Gold race on Ballarat Cup Day, is very important."
Peaking this time: "We've had him up in distance, back in distance, and we've been a little puzzled by some of his performances. He's always shown plenty of ability and it was a top ride from Harry Coffey. We said to come out and have the horse relaxed where he saw fit and he steered him through a really good path and he let rip."
The wet: "We were a little bit concerned when there was a downground and it was pretty wet at Kilmore the other day. He wore the visors today, and he appreciated that. He let rip and was very true in his form today and it's fantastic to get another win for Godolphin.
Winning Jockey: Harry Coffey
Gear changes?: "I'm not sure. I think he's a funny horse that needs things to pan out perfect. I watched the replay at Kilmore and to me it looked like he didn't enjoy getting down that hill too well. Today, on a nice flat track, he got a beautiful run and was able to get the job done. I don't think it matters too much what gear you've got on him as he can be a bit tricky, but when it's run to suit, it works out."
Spot in running: "I was wanting to follow Harry's Yacht but it took all of me not to do that and I ended up getting a nice run to the outside of runners. They really bunched up at the corner and he's got a good turn of foot, but he can't sustain it. I was mindful of using that too early, but I had to get out and get around them and make a race of it, which was probably the winning move at the top of the straight, albeit he peaked on his run and was vulnerable late. It was an opportunity to win the race and we took it."
