R1 Book Your Christmas Party On 3rd Or 10th December Maiden, 1100m

Nikolsky (4) was a good effort first up in a similar race after getting well back and running on strongly. Back in trip here but with several pressing forward should get tempo to suit. BAD ALIBI (8) debut run a forgive after pulling up lame. Had trialled well in the lead up and had good market support. CAN'T CATCH CHILLI (9) has an awkward gate to overcome but is close to breaking through, finding only one better at her past couple. THICKSKINNED (3) was only fair back in March when rock-solid in the market. Returns from a break with blinkers going on and  a likely improver. VABUIAGI (10) led all the way in Hobart trial win but time was only moderate, check betting.

Staking Strategy: Although well beaten on debut, there were excuses for Bad Alibi. Thickskinned resumes and trialled okay in blinkers. 1 unit to win THICKSKINNED (3) and BAD ALIBI (8).

R2 Ladbrokes Launceston Cup Packages On Sale Now Maiden, 1400m

Don Turboas (6) solid effort resuming and the quinella out of that race have performed well since. SURF SOUL (15) had some excuses resuming, hampered at start and blocked for run at key stage, should've finished a bit closer, rise in trip a plus. The 5yo gelding BENEFICIARY (2) has clearly had some issues but is sporting the right colours to be able to win on debut. Respect any market push. Well-bred TIMMIE LAD (7) finished just out of the placings at his first start and will be better for the experience. D'AMBIDEX (10) and MONCLERE (5) next best.

Staking Strategy: Beneficiary has trialled on two occasions and looks to have nice ability. Awkward gate but with a number of these settling back, doesn't map too badly. Don Turboas the obvious threat with good form around his most recent run. 2 units to win BENEFICIARY (2) and DON TURBOAS (6).

R3 Ladbrokes Class 4, 1400m

The Longest Yard (2) was just no match for smart winner 14 days ago. Never runs badly. IT'S JAGGER TIME (3) faces toughest test but is still on the improve. An easy winner here last Friday. BEAUTANTES (1) mainland form is good enough. Last win was over this trip in a Class 5 race at Doomben. LILY LUELLA (5) is ready now third up. KAKIA (4) and WHIPPIN PICCADILLY (6) will be competitive.

Staking Strategy: The Longest Yard just keeps racing well , narrowly beaten last time in similar company, can make amends. 2 units to win THE LONGEST YARD (2).

R4 House Of Arras Launceston Cup Corporate Marquee Class 1 Handicap, 1400m

Alpine Fury (1) was a beaten favourite at Hobart and was never travelling at any stage. Worth another chance out to this trip. Won with authority second up last preparation. COOL CONQUEST (7) continues to race well without winning, maps to be in the finish again. STROAK OF ART (2) sound effort fresh behind Platinum Reggae after conceding a start. Out to the 1400m more suitable. TALK LIKE THAT (5) fitter now third run in, winner this track and trip, winkers added. CORSA VELOCE (4) finished off okay first up after getting too far back and should be thereabouts.

Staking Strategy: Have to forgive the first up run of Alpine Fury on the heavy. Big winner second up last prep, can improve sharply. 2 units to win ALPINE FURY (1).

R5 Ladbrokes Punters Marquee Class 2 Handicap, 1200m

Georgaroni (1) finished just too well at Hobart and kept his unbeaten record intact. ROUNDLE PARK (7) resumes and rates highly on the back of his first preparation. Couldn't have trialled much better in the lead-up. Looks set to run well. HALEN (3) is much improved this time in, two wins from past three outings. STAR WALKIN' (4) awkwardly drawn but is going well and back in his right grade. GEEGEEHAILSTORM (8) ready now fourth run back. Forget last start. Better suited back to the 1200m. TROTSKY (5) was successful here two runs back then never saw daylight in the straight a fortnight later.

Staking Strategy: Roundle Park first time away from the synthetic but trialled nicely here recently and looks set to run well resuming. 2 units to win ROUNDLE PARK (7).

R6 Ladbrokes Bm72 Hcp, 1200m

Gee Gee Enuf Speed (2) on the 5-day back-up and not a lot of room in the straight on Friday night. QUICKEN UP (4) always travelled like the winner last time and was far too good. Can measure up again. FLYING BILLIE (3) has claims on best form. Forgive first up run when slowly away. Good record second up. ZEWINNA (1) is likely to need this run resuming but wasn't far away first up last preparation. STARDARMUS (5) resumes, wider chance.

Staking Strategy: Gee Gee Enuff Speed didn't have the best of luck here last week and should've finished a bit closer, maps for better run. 3 units to win GEE GEE ENUF SPEED (2)

R7 Cressy Chaff Cutters Longford Cup New Years Day Bm68 Hcp, 2100m

Don't Give Up (2) is fit and firing, very good run here two back and then won handsomely at Hobart and is still on the up. NIGHT INVADER (3) has been in winning form and looks a big threat. Gets out to the 2100m for the first time, should handle it. MILES 'N' MILES (4) rounds off the key chances, definitely ready now for the 2100m, been around the money all preparation. EXALTED CROWN (6) next best then CHICANE (1).

Staking Strategy: Marked Don't Give Up, Miles and Miles & Night Invader as the clear 3 winning hopes and not a lot between them. Night Invader will be hard to hold out if close enough on the turn. 2 units to win NIGHT INVADER (3).

R8 Book Into The Country Cup Marquee New Years Day Bm60 Hcp, 1600m

Baybougg (4) is going well, winner here two back then covered ground at latest and was sitting shot for the winner. ELEGANTLY WRITTEN (3) a touch disappointing in same race, was well-backed ,have opted to claim this time around. STEEL MIST (5) mixes form but capable and most effective when able to lead. Last time at this track and trip led for a very long way in a harder race. DYNAMIC DEEL (2) not far away at past couple over staying trips. Freshened, dropping back to the mile. LAUNNIE NIGHTS (9) not a regular winner but not without a chance. Solid here two runs back in a deeper race.

Staking Strategy: Elegantly Written gets a handy claim and meets main rival Baybougg on far better terms. Steel Mist hard can mix form but is up to winning this on best. 1 unit to win ELEGANTLY WRITTEN (3) and STEEL MIST (5).
