TRIAL POINTERS
RANDWICK November 7: Shouldn't take long for I Am Invincible filly SYLPH to break her maiden after a classy win in her 1045m heat (62.97; 34.59). She was placed in her first three starts last season but has come on well with her spell with this effort showing nice improvement off her placing in a Randwick trial last month. She travelled wide but put in lovely work over the last 200m to win with plenty in reserve. Classy performer YORKSHIRE is ready to go first-up after backing up his excellent trial at Randwick on October 20 with an impressive win the fastest 1045m heat (62.08; 34.05), rounding up the leader with sharp work over the last 200m. We know he has abundant talent and could really rise to a new level over the summer.
ROSEHILL November 5: Classy 4YO ANGEL CAPITAL trucked through his 900m trial in great style, showing he is the right form to take on another G1 assignment before the end of the spring. He settled third behind the leaders with Zac Lloyd having to keep him under a big hold as he was eager to run in his 900m heat (54.97; 34.79). Nothing flash about the time but the manner of his work over the last 100m when he was never let go has him cherry ripe to make up for his luckless G1 efforts at his last two starts. Racy Zoustar filly PYROLISIS was placed twice in June and July and should have no trouble picking up a maiden win after another sharp trial win. She won a Rosehill trial on October 24 and backed it up winning the fastest 1030m heat (61.12; 34.27) by more than three lengths, spearing clear over the last 200m with sharp acceleration. There were two 2YO heats with the Russian Revolution colt SEEIAYE improving on his debut second in a Rosehill trial to record a strong win his 900m heat (54.,39; 34.89). The other 2YO heat was won in slow time by TENENBAUM (55.58; 33.10), sprinting home to repeat his debut win in a Hawkesbury trial on October 21.
WARWICK FARM October 31: Smart maiden heat winners included CAPDIVA (815m 47.65; 33.71); YOU SEXY THING (812m 48.16; 33.92); and CURADO (812m 48.10; 34.09). Group performer ROBUSTO was given a good hitout to win his 1207m heat (73.21; 34.98).
ROSEHILL October 24: A strong open heat over 1030m (62.32; 34.88) saw the late effort by JUST PARTY take the eye. XIDAKI and APEX were others to perform with credit in the open heats. The 900m maiden heat winners LONTRICE (54.73; 34.97) and PYROLYSIS (53.73; 33.88) look primed for good showings.
RANDWICK October 20: YORKSHIRE made his return with easy work in the fastest open heat overt 742m won by the smart filly TOMATO TOASTIE (43.83; 33.07). The Snitzel 5YO has won six of his eight starts and is set for a successful summer campaign.
WARWICK FARM October 3: Unraced Godolphin mare WEEKEND MARKET is in fine form for her new trainer, making a mess of her rivals to win her 1207m heat by eight lengths (72.47; 35.02), sitting second to the 400m and dropping them off the turn to open up a big margin with ease. She's had four trials in 18 months and being a 4YO you would think she would have been stud bound if Godolphin didn't have faith in her ability. WHINCHAT won six of his first 12 starts but struggled through his winter campaign including an embargo from racing after he reared badly at the start of one of his races. He was on song in his first trial since July, trucking through the first 1000m of his 1207m heat (72.17; 35.32) to lead by eight lengths at the 50mm before he was eased down to 1.5 lengths on the line.
WARWICK FARM August 8: Sharp debut trial by North Pacific colt CURADO, showing good natural speed to control his 779m heat from start to finish (47.51; 34.71). Held a good margin to the line with plenty in reserve.
ROSEHILL July 15: Zac Lloyd took Wootton Basset filly WOOTTON WAY back to last in her debut trial over 900m before showing obvious talent to finish off under a hold for an easy fifth in the heat (56.36; 35.76). Keen to see how she progresses with experience.
RANDWICK July 11: There were numerous good trials in the 2YO heats including the winner DARING FELLOW.
ROSEHILL February 3: The quieter 2YO trials that took the eye included PLAINTIFF.
