Perth Glory have handed Adam Griffiths the opportunity to prove himself as head coach, appointing him until the end of the 2025-26 A-League season.

Griffiths, who was promoted from assistant coach to caretaker following the sacking of David Zdrilic after just two weeks, has impressed club officials with his performance during a six-game stint that includes three wins. There is also the option to extend his contract should his results and leadership continue to meet expectations.

This move comes after the Glory were rejected by a series of high-profile A-League coaches, including John Aloisi, Graham Arnold, and Nick Montgomery, prompting them to widen their search. Despite this, club owner and chairman Ross Pelligra expressed confidence in Griffiths' potential, highlighting his ability to build a strong team culture.

"This is a decision we have not taken lightly, and we have carefully considered all our options," Pelligra said. "Adam has proven to be an outstanding candidate with great talent and potential, someone we want to fully support. Results are important, but culture is paramount. We believe Adam has the ability to foster a strong, successful environment, and we are confident he will lead us to further success."

Glory's CEO, Anthony Radich, noted that Griffiths, 46, has earned the respect of both players and coaching staff during his time in charge. "Adam has shown leadership and professionalism, both in training and match days. His calm and composed presence has been embraced by the players," Radich said.

Griffiths will now look to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Sydney FC when Glory face Adelaide United at HBF Park this Saturday.
