Newcastle Racecourse to Host 2026 International Women’s Day Luncheon in Support of Samaritans Newcastle - Friday 6 March 2026.
Newcastle Racecourse will host its annual International Women’s Day Luncheon on Friday, 6 March 2026, alongside the Horsepower Newcastle Stakes race meeting, bringing together racing, community and philanthropy for one of the region’s most anticipated social events.
This year's event will raise vital funds for Samaritans Newcastle, supporting young people across the Hunter who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
The 2026 International Women's Day theme, Give to Gain, celebrates the power of generosity and the belief that when individuals and organisations give back, communities grow stronger.
CEO Duane Dowell said the luncheon continues to be a highlight on the club's annual calendar.
"International Women's Day is an opportunity to celebrate leadership, resilience and the impact women have across our community," Mr Dowell said.
"We are proud to use the platform of Newcastle Racecourse to not only bring people together for a memorable day on track, but to generate meaningful support for Samaritans Newcastle and the young people who rely on their services. When our community shows up and gives generously, we truly see the collective impact."
Australian music icon Marcia Hines will headline the event, delivering the keynote address and performing a selection of her signature hits. She will be joined by Natalia Hogan, a former Samaritans youth client who is now a final-year physiotherapy student at the University of Newcastle. In 2024, Ms Hogan completed an extraordinary 177-kilometre ultra-marathon from Sydney to Newcastle to raise awareness for youth homelessness.
Guests will enjoy a specially curated plated menu by Executive Chef Mark Davis, premium G.H. Mumm Champagne all day, and the opportunity to connect with business leaders and community advocates from across the region.
Since 2018, Newcastle Racecourse's International Women's Day Luncheon has raised more than $245,000 for local charities, reinforcing the club's ongoing commitment to community partnership and impact.
The following businesses are proud sponsors of the 2026 International Women's Day Luncheon: Event Cinemas Kotara, Hall & Wilcox, Matthews Jewellers, Prosperity Advisers, Sharp Office, SV Partners, and The Agency Lake Macquarie Team O'Doherty.
